Which USB-C adapter are you using?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071WYF9HP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_NzueCb285W7WS

It was on sale a couple days ago for $20.

And don’t be fooled, there is a link to a “newer model,” but it is not as good (slower USB-C output and USB-A is not as versatile).

Oh and FYI, the USB-A port uses Anker’s Power IQ 2 technology, which unofficially supports QC3.0 (9VDC+). This likely means that plugging in the TapTes (via extension cable) would provide fast wireless charging, although you’ll have the deal with the extra cable (DIY posted earlier on how to hide it).

Yeah, that's the one that we discussed earlier in the thread. Problem is that it sticks out of the port quite a bit, so when you plug in a cable the USB plug will likely conflict with the removable tray in the rear compartment.
I'm picky though. I'll take some pictures and post them here so people can decide if it's too tight for themselves. Lightning cables seem to be fragile and the USB-C to Lightning cable is not cheap so I don't like to bend them much.

I also bought some of these and they just arrived put have not tried them yet.

These support PD

Also got this in today as well. Going to test using the cable then through those adapters and see what happens.

Also grabbed this as it supports QC. I don't have my Taptes yet but I do have QI chargers that require QC2.0 for fast charging.

I'll try to get pics up by the end of Friday.

Taptes plugged into both USB ports of Model 3
5v ~1-1.1amps both sides

Taptes plugged into usb splitter with usb for tesla cam
5v 1-1.1amps both sides

Taptes plugging into a regular battery banks (5v/3amp) usb
5v 1-1.1amps

I have only tested with an apple lightening cable and the tesla ports and my usb reader said the same 1.1amps

COOL! seems like there is no loss in using taptes wireless
v. standard tesla set wired set up!

works for me!

THX!!!

Concerning the Anker 12V USB-C PD adapter.. You can see how the Anker is too close to the tray. For this shot I used the USB-A type cable to lightning because I'm not bending my expensive Apple USB-C cable.
