Tesla app version 4.0.0 has app re design for both car and energy

Why would they take away backup only. That was a powerful feature when weather forecast is bad, but not bad enough to trigger SW. I liked having the "power" to control my PW with one button

understood, but then you have to reset reserve after. Using a slider is not precise when you reset it to what is was before 100%. One radio button for backup only is much preferred

After upgrading to 4.0.1, we were asked to reconfirm our enrollment in the program, which has since been rebranded "Tesla & PG&E Virtual Power Plant Beta." There is new info in the app regarding the program and an updated support page. The biggest update is that we will receive $1 for every additional kWh we provide during an "event."

Mine does not have that verbiage. I still have the prior no compensation Tesla VPP (beta) showing in my app. I also don't have any PG&E rate plans shown and I have a "Edit Custom Rate Plan" button.

I don’t have an option to choose a PG&E rate plan either, just the custom rate plan.

Mine showed that for 2 minutes and then it changed back to a version without the $1 per kWh.

I’m pretty sure Tesla’s mega powerful AI cannot make heads or tails of PG&E’s EV2A plan so the app doesn’t offer the plan as a preset either.

One other minor issue. I notice when you select the graphs it only displays data up to the last time you accessed the graph. You have to change the time frame and then go back to “day” to have the graph update to current time. Are others experiencing the same?

3.x also has this problem. The first time I open the graphs each day, it thinks today is yesterday.

I tried it and get a consistent ERROR message with no further details. Anyone have success with this?

My PW was upgraded to 20.21.6 and I paired my iPhone 12 in seconds. Stand next to the PW, open the pairing screen and toggle one power switch.

Yes there is. I have it waiting in the queue for my iPad. I am just choosing not to download it yet because I prefer the UI of the other APP

So there are separate iPhone and iPad versions of the app? If so, how can I select the iPad version? The only thing I am currently seeing is app version 4.0.1

For energy products, I don't think there's any new functionality. If you like the old graphs and/or balanced mode, there's no reason to "upgrade" yet.

About the only new feature that we really like in the new app is if you have multiple vehicles that work with Phone as Key. Now you don't need to swipe to the specific vehicle in order to unlock it, drive it, etc.

Thanks, yep, just batteries, no EV. And I do like the v3 graphs
