Is this down to $1000 yet? Can’t wait for the class action lawsuits / recalls coming.
This is the inevitable NHTSA conclusion... the truth will set you free!

But it isn't related to this thread at all.
Even if NHTSA forces a recall people will just get one of the new Tegra daughterboards, not a MCU2 upgrade.
No. Just no. Fantasy.I think the OP was speculating that the Tegra supply would be exhausted.
I also believe that NHTSA is likely to rule against Tesla and order a recall.
Yes I know this functionality. However even with that it’s still annoying to have both sounds coming on top of each other. I prefer the MCU1 functionality with the music audio fading in the front driver side speakers when navigation voice is on. Is this a bug or did Tesla change that in MCU2?
Well after more then six months finally dropped my S off in Orlando for the upgrade. At least 6 to 7 days to complete!
Model Y loaner.
I consider an "old S" a nice loaner.Where are people getting nice loaners from. The 2 times I've gotten a loaner it was a old S.

As the owner of an old Model S, I take offense at that aspersion. Best car I have ever owned. Smile every time I drive it.Where are people getting nice loaners from. The 2 times I've gotten a loaner it was a old S.

Is a flaky Media Control Unit a safety issue?I agree NHTSA will rule against Tesla which will mean free fixes for all. I’ll take the upgrade at a reduced price though, not retail, they have to pay for their mess. My screen has constant windows which don’t render, the updates are taking their toll. MCU1, 2019 62k miles
They did not rule against Toyota and the bad MCU in the '04-'05 Prius. It was up to the customer to repair the cars and the fix from Toyota cost about $4000+I agree NHTSA will rule against Tesla which will mean free fixes for all. Did the Prius MCU also control the backup camera and headlights and other essential functions of the car? Not a rhetorical question, I am really curious to know. They did not rule against Toyota and the bad MCU in the '04-'05 Prius.
