There was a white M3 in the showroom being prepred for delivery. Looked sharp. That was probably yours.

I am pretty sure it was as he said the other guy that was supposed to take delivery with me said he was really sick and couldn't make it. I would have to be on my death bed to miss my delivery and I can assume it was nowhere here.

So Pearl was all alone in the prep room and we got some extended time to do a very thorough delivery check. Absolutely flawless. Panel gaps nonexistent, no scratches, hood was great and no sink. I took a good very thorough walk through as my wife got the tutorial inside.

Zach was our delivery specialist and he has had his 3 since November and you can tell he knew his stuff and gave us real world experience and advice versus the scripted delivery which was a breath of fresh air, very well done on his part.

We had the 5pm delivery so it was a ghost town in there which is good as we had our little ones with us and they could enjoy the play area while we did our thing and everyone was so nice.

I am probably speaking from recency bias but this car is blowing me away 10x more than when I took delivery of my S. The cabin is meant for driving. I am 6'3 and i feel like i was in a naturally made driving womb for me. So much room, the cabin is so airy, and that screen is absolutely the show stealer as it is so fast, high resolution, and moves like that 60fps type movement with no jitters and buttery smooth.

The ride feels like i am in a sports car. I have driven many exotics and this thing has such pep and the grip when i gunned it and cornering blew me away. Nowhere near as floaty or soft compared to the S which will be a personal preference for many.

The Pearl White wasn't in the top 3 for me at all and again, this is my wife's car but the moment you see that color in person it screams classy. Its like a matte, almost muted cream even and it looks fantastic. Well done Mrs. Cnasty :)

Hate to sound fanboyism but if they can figure out production hell and start getting people in the seats of these things for test drives, they are going to absolutely sell a gazillion of these. I am so impressed and this is coming from a Tesla previously.

I wish i had something to nitpick and i really looked but the team at the service center did an immaculate job getting this prepped and delivery was amazing and very personal.

I did see 3 other 3s now in the lot and he said they have over 100 on the way in the next 2 weeks and the team is working 12-15 hour shifts to keep up as the flood gates have opened in Dallas. He acknowledged the delays in Texas and said they are really struggling to keep up now moving forward as it really ramps up and they are considering an offsite show room/delivery center if need be.

I drove it around the rest of the evening and cant wait to get back in it tomorrow.

Let me know if you guys have any questions and I cant wait to hear the other Texas stories! (sorry for the bad pics, it was dark)

Of course I had to initiate her Texas style with some Whataburger ;)

Congrats!!!

I shouldn't have read this... Saturday is so far away!

I got them last friday and I took delivery today, just send them back as it didnt factor at all in delaying any delivery or was a factor. I just dropped it in a FedEx box.

My advisor said delivery is not contingent upon returning those documents. Their timely return, however, will help prevent delays in obtaining our official Texas license plates.

Congrats, man. Didn't realize this wasn't yours. I'm assuming your wife was equally impressed? Mine went from thinking Tesla was a straight up scam and there was no such thing as EVs and autonomous driving to begging for one every day.

Yea mine always thought it was just another guy thing, a toy that i must have if you will. Then she test drove the S and she was ordering it hours after and is now hooked. I say hers but I will probably drive it about 75% of the time but she got to configure, choose color, and name this one after i did all of that fun stuff for our S.

She is kind of overwhelmed and nervous as its a little learning curve from the S.

Yea it’s for spring break and it doesn’t make much sense to rent a car to drive the 2500 miles as that’s one of the main reasons we got a Tesla anyways was for road trips.

That being said the 3 being a “beta” car concerns me for such a long trip and not sure I want to start its life span out with almost 3k miles.

Torn....either way, delivery day!!!!
Make sure you check out supercharging before hitting the road. There has been at least one poorly fitting connection that put a guy out on the road without a paddle.

Cnasty, did you see a black 3 with aeros in the lot by chance? Friday can't come soon enough lol.

Yes. I saw a red, a black, and a white one sitting out there.

They said that some guy was on the lot of the SC and prep center taking pics of all the VINs and cars so they’ve gone to a more stealthy approach and all VINs are now covered and they only hold the one taking delivery that day or next onsite. Probably why I didn’t see it on Sunday.

Can’t wait to hear some other Dallas stories. Seems the team is working crazy hard as deliveries mount in Dallas.

Gotcha. Makes sense. So pumped for others to start taking deliveries. I'm going to be up in that area from the 16th to the 18th. Maybe I'll see somebody at one of the SCs.

My ISA e-mailed me and said that my Blue/Sport 3 has arrived at the North Houston service center. Delivery is scheduled for next Tuesday 3/13. I replied and offered to take it off their hands early if it's ready. :D

I think mine was only one of a batch that arrived in Houston today. If your delivery is scheduled for anytime in the next 7-10 days, yours is probably also at the North Houston service center.

Funny as we've already seen those pics, although they've been removed from the post earlier. It'll be me next though because I need to see red and Midnight Silver - undecided at this point and leaning toward the Midnight over the red.

I get how it is a little different than walking around a normal car lot though, as these cars are already sold and paid for and belong to specific people - us.

Update: I have moved on from obsessively refreshing My Tesla to obsessively refreshing the UPS tracking page for the check the bank sent Tesla. (Latest was arrival in Las Vegas at 4:56 a.m.) Once it's delivered they'll call me for a delivery date.
