Upset that Tesla screwed customers who took delivery in the last few months

We are all sympathetic toward recent purchasers who could have gotten their cars cheaper. I think anyone in that situation would be upset and frustrated. I'm pretty sure if I ever pay $15k for FSD, they will start giving it away for free the next day lol.

However, the affected buyers have no legal recourse, and Tesla rarely makes financial accommodations for customers.

If you are unhappy with Tesla's FSD or AP, there is no cars on this plant can make you happy for that functionality. $7500 credit is not for everyone, so that should not be the basis for your calculation
Tesla is definitely not the best at highway assist features. My 2022 Mercedes GLE with Driver Assistance Package is significantly better than my 2023 Model Y in Autopilot on the highway.

Bought model Y and was forced to tale delivery on dec 31 at 11:30 pm Otherwise I wont get the discount, any sane person would not want to leave the 7500 on the table but i could have waited to take the delivery and i told them i want to take the car in new year. The sales people insisted I take it on Dec 31. By california law you can get a return a car in 7 days , Tesla planned to sell as many as possible at the higher price ( sales teams were texting me back n forth even though i wasnt looking for a car in december , I had only inquired once sometime in early 2022) and then wait for 7 days which takes the to Jan 7 ( friday ) Jan 13 friday they drop the price by $13k + 7500 tax credit. Even with discount applied I have still lost alot of money since I cannot recieve any more tax credit for it as well. This is a planned scam. In 7 days car value has degraded $13k. No other car company does this type of huge price adjustments. This isnt fair to the customers.
Yes they do. Dealers do it all the time when they need to move inventory. You just don’t see it unless your are buying the car they are discounting.

Hi everyone,

Just took delivery of model Y last week due to delayed at the end of last year. We missed out on $7500 rebate. Now price cut for model 3 and Y. Tesla customer service said nothing they can do nor any guidelines from Tesla management. Price point for my Y is way above iRS stupid guideline for tax credit. Any of you guys feel like you’ve been ****ed over by Tesla lately?

This is our third model Y and Tesla has gone down in delivery quality and customer service!

As a new tesla customer I am pissed that Tesla did such a huge price drop. Feel cheated by Tesla...
Just took delivery in early December. This is such a huge change in price. I think it shall be protested by consumers who got screwed overnight..!

People who took delivery in the last few months..! What are your thoughts on this giant price reduction!
Don’t think anything can be done. I took delivery in November so I’m (and many others) in the worst spot. Have to just absorb this pain, and continue to enjoy the car. I do love it!

For-profit Capitalism at work. Period.
More like socialism where everyone gets the same price on a given day.

Ford or Toyota are more capitalist. The second customer for a Camry might pay $5,000 more than the fourth customer, but neither knows for sure what the other one paid. Both customers are pleased with their purchase and think they got a great deal. People are happier being in the dark sometimes.

Best thing to do right now is probably buy a second car, then your average "loss" will only be half as much.

I was pleased that Tesla honored the price I ordered my car at even though the price rose substantially between order and delivery-- they didn't have to write their contract that way, and I don't expect them to be sending me a check now. I paid a price I was OK with, the value today is irrelevant. In 10 or 15 years when I sell the car I'll worry about what the current market value might be.

If i place an order today, does it matter WHEN i get it delievered or does it have to be delivered before March to get the qualified $7500 credit on tax return next year?

Delivery date is key. Before April you're good, April and beyond it depends on how the government writes the regulations. Most seem to believe that 3LR/3P/Y will keep the $7500 but nobody knows yet.

To totally put all of your customers underwater overnight is really bad business. I own 2 and love Tesla but I am very upset and should be at this point.

I'm calling BS here. I also picked up my Y on the 31st December as well, but I had to fight to get it then, and not on the 2nd or 3rd of January when I'd have lost the $7500 and 2 years of charging. The sales team didn't know what was going to happen then. The IRS hadn't put out their guidelines then. You - and me - both thought we had a great deal. Until yesterday. And we did. We still did far better than those who got the same car at Thanksigiving. This wasn't planned - it's a business decision based on IRS changes in January. It's totally fair, even if we don't like it.

I am so mad about Tesla's price reduction. I picked up delivery on my Model 3 Long Range on November 21, 2022. I didn't get the December rebate from Tesla, and now the price of the same car is 5,000 dollars cheaper than what I bought it for. I have had the car for 53 days. It leaves me with such a sour taste that I will not be promoting Tesla unless they are willing to reimburse recent customers.
