I use this everyday and love it. The moving map is 20-30 seconds behind your actual location, but still very useful.
You can install our site as a web app on your iOS device by utilizing the Add to Home Screen feature in Safari. Please see this thread for more details on this.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.

Screen shot?When I load up the new version on the browser I get the text "hello" overlaid on a lot of the icons. I'm assuming this isn't normal?

Ok, thanks.No not on the Google Maps browser. You would need to move to something like OpenStreetMap.

...but often will not start up again by itself when I start the car, just stalls and doesn't load...need to refresh.

When I drag the map and then hit "Resume tracking", it reverts to your default zoom, not the one in the saved URL. Refresh and it stays at your default. Go to another website, select the favorite for your version, and it still stays at your default zoom. Expand a notch manually, and then it stays at my expanded level when refreshed.
