Its quite likely these are vehicles that people pulled out of at the very last minute, either because of the wait being too long or just found out they cant afford it. Wouldn't be to surprised.
Or its returns from people who just found out the car isn't for them with the 7 day return policy.
 
So looks like it's not just bad communications between Tesla and its customers, but also within its internal staff too.

I had a call today from Melbourne dealership AGAIN regarding the whereabouts of my car, and that they are going to send me an invoice which I had already received yesterday from another staff! The person over the phone was quite surprised about my call yesterday. He then asked me to shoot him the rego form which again I had already sent and gotten a confirmation from a third staff yesterday! After going through all the information I'd been informed of, I could felt the awkwardness on his side, so he just rushed to the usual 'expecting a delivery call in coming weeks' and bid me a farewell.

What's more funny is instead of saying a January delivery date like the guy told me on Monday, this person said expect a late December to early January delivery...

Now I'm seriously wondering what kind of system Tesla is tripping on...
