V10 in Canada - what will it come with?

As it should. I don’t care about the browser but Spotify and Netflix should be available OTA or by subscription to any trim level.

Sentry mode reports events, but did not record anything

For the dashcam or sentry mode to record it needs to be setup with a properly formatted memory card/flash drive and the media must stay plugged in at all times. You will get a notification or an event either way but if there’s no memory installed the video isn’t kept anywhere. To properly setup...

Let's talk winter tires for the 3

The stock tires are Michelin Primacy MXM4, 235/45-18, 98W. The Costco X-ice are 235/45R18/XL 98H which is two steps below in the speed rating chart. I spoke with three different techs (Willingdon and downtown -expo blvd) and they all said Costco will only go one level lower with Michelin which...

Let's talk winter tires for the 3

Confirmed by email from online sales. They won’t honour the $2400 even though it’s still showing on the front page of the listings. They also removed the wheel caps which is very annoying with the $300 price increase. Even though the $2000 US is roughly $2700, it seems pretty crappy for Tesla to...

Let's talk winter tires for the 3

I was just at Costco today. They won’t install the X-ice or Sottozero 2’s as the ones they carry aren’t at a high enough speed rating. Apparently Michelin is the only tire manufacturer that will allow one lower than recommended but the X-ice still isn’t high enough. I asked if there’s any way...

BC EV rebate to run out of money soon?

Correct. Unfortunately out of luck. It’s sucks that the rebate was changed but some people went to pickup their vehicles and they was no rebate available. They got none of the provincial $5,000. Governments are notorious for changing rules on the fly. Just like shopping at Costco, get it now...

New member, and a few questions

Look at the Vancouver VIN thread. It has a wealth of info. But to answer your questions. Yes you need to confirm finance approval that was offered to you. Wait until just before delivery for final numbers. They won’t guarantee the provincial rebate until closer to as funding isn’t endless
  8. R

    PPSA fee

Yes. That’s the fee from the bank for processing your financing. It varies depending on which bank and the length of term.

    Insurance in BC

Hard to compare insurance quotes. Even moving a few geographic blocks can raise your premium $20 - $30 or more per month. That’s with the same insurer as well. Different companies have wildly different rates depending on your situation and insurance/driving history. In general ICBC is the lowest...

Model 3 SR+ Included Charger Adaptors

Just to confirm, you got a model 3? I ordered April 27, took delivery May 12 and it got the Gen 2 set with 14-50 plug. I specifically asked and he went back into the delivery center to find a bag with one. He said “last one with this plug, you’re lucky. We’re not including this anymore”. No toy car

Yes for the rear. Front was plastic mounting bracket.

BC EV rebate to run out of money soon?

Yes and the ZapBC program is depleted again for this year. Happy I was able to get mine done in time. They will have funding again in 2020
  13. R

    Insurance in BC

Your absolutely right. I don’t know where it got that 50% figure from. It’s around 20% which equates to about $400-450 per policy at full discount.

    Insurance in BC

I did my ICBC at the delivery center (they have an agent on site) and called BelAir on the phone immediately after. They likely won’t let you leave the delivery center without proof of insurance for collision/comp if you’re financing. I had to show proof of private. insurance to the ICBC rep...

    Vancouver BC VIN .

I’m guessing that’s with ICBC. Might be worth checking with private insurer for optional coverage. Mine was quoted at $800 less per year with the discounts I qualified for.

    Vancouver BC VIN .

Confirmed I only paid 12% tax in Van for SR+ black/black no add ons. I just double checked my MVPA and for some reason I paid less financing fee ($64.10 instead of $113.43 - rep said this does vary), and I only paid 12% tax not 13% (tax of $6609.60 vs $7160.40) My down payment was bigger but...

    Vancouver BC VIN .

Don’t even bother looking at online. For the SR+ black/black I was charged 12% tax in BC. No luxury tax (pst)
  18. R

    Vancouver BC VIN .

The total purchase price will all fees for a SR+ in B.C. is $51,753.70 if it’s financed through Scotia. If not subtract $64.10 for cash price. That includes the debit for EV rebate of $10,000. Subtracted from that amount is your deposit of $3,200. So for the total amount due at time of delivery...

    Vancouver BC VIN .

Quoted from the email from my delivery rep: “The balance can be made in the form of a personal check or bank draft addressed to Tesla Motors Canada ULC. Yes we do have insurance agents on site, all you’ll need to bring is your driver’s license.” So the correct name on the bank draft or cheque...

    Vancouver BC VIN .

There’s no duty. Ignore the amount due. That will be updates when your DR contacts you for your appointment and financing or payment method is confirmed. Your MVPA will have everything listed and will be available online the day or two before delivery. You pay MSRP, delivery/freight (likely...

BC EV rebate to run out of money soon?

It didn’t help that no-one showed up until 30 mins after our appointment time. I made myself and wife a Nespresso (after fixing their jammed machine), researched Tesla accessories on the phone and wife luckily brought a book. When we arrived there was a guy in the office who supposedly notified...

    M3 Sr+ Partial Premium Question

No. As it mentions in the article you linked, the partial premium does not come with internet browsing, satellite maps or streaming media. I didn’t check/research about non-Tesla streaming media and was surprised to learn that XM isn’t even available by paid subscription. Major downside IMO...

    Vancouver BC VIN .

As I mentioned in another thread there is no way they’re delivering 100 vehicles a day in Van. When I took delivery I was at Powell for over 2 hrs and only two vehicles were delivered including mine. In fact they only had our two vehicles on the lot. The thing to keep in mind about many of the...

    Vancouver BC VIN .

Breakdown for SR+ with no add on’s is $55,080 + tax (12%) + financing fee (varies and charged by the bank - Scotia charges $64.10 ). Then you subtract rebates ($10000) and deposit ($3200). Total out the door for me was $48553.70. The total before rebates and deposit is $61,753.70. That’s the...

BC EV rebate to run out of money soon?

Are you sure you qualify for the BC rebate with performance? My understanding is anything with MSRP beyond $77k doesn’t qualify. The MSRP for performance is $80,710.

BC EV rebate to run out of money soon?

There’s an inventory shortage for most manufacturers right now. We inquired about purchasing a Kona EV and they said 1-2 months for ultimate, 1-2 weeks for preferred. Likely it will turn out the same as when the federal rebate was announced... slow and waves of rush depending on inventory...

    Vancouver BC VIN .

Dont Don’t worry about it. My VIN didn’t show up online until after they called to book the delivery appointment. I actually was assigned a VIN when I put my order it but it was only visible to the Tesla staff. My car came from inventory
  31. R

BC EV rebate to run out of money soon?

The reserve funds are for cars on order or funds that have been applied at time of purchase but not reimbursed to the dealer. Tesla will only apply the rebate at time of vehicle delivery (pickup). The only relevant figure is incentive funds available (currently $628.00).
  32. R

The $48553.70 is the total price on my invoice with deposit included and no extra down payment.

They added the logo for me when I ordered at the West Van showroom. Don’t worry about any of that until you get a call from the delivery team. They are the ones with the final say and make sure everything is in order. Sales team doesn’t have much info and was incorrect with much of the info they...

I just picked up my black/black SR+ In Vancouver and paid 12% tax despite being over $55k. They include the fed A/C tax in the taxable subtotal as it’s a taxable fee. You do need ownership info and it’s done on site. The upload is not applicable to BC as you won’t be able to get your insurance without the transfer slip and vehicle info (from ICBC). Private insurance will ask for you VIN, make/model and plate number. You need to have at minimum basic ICBC and...

    Vancouver BC VIN .

Took delivery yesterday and the Powell delivery center was strangely quiet and basically a fenced open parking lot with a small office. Only three vehicles (including my own) on the lot. Vancouver BC VIN .

The sales people at Tesla said my car was coming “from inventory” and they assigned a particular vehicle to my order at time of purchase. FYI as well. Making changes in terms of options SR-, SR, SR+ shouldn’t change the delivery date. It’s only colour and physical changes to the car (rather...

    Vancouver BC VIN .

I received my delivery call last night for delivery in Vancouver, BC. Rep said they’re booking into late next week as this point. I ordered April 27 so that’s 12 days after order, 16 until delivery. Mine was a bit sooner as my vehicle has been in Vancouver the whole time. A friend ordered on May...

Usually taxes don’t count towards reaching the ceiling price but I’m not 100% sure on the luxury tax program. My Tesla account shows the same (minus total due) for my SR+ black

BC EV rebate to run out of money soon?

If that were the case and the prov rebate ran out temporarily, I would delay taking delivery. Not your problem Tesla is slow as molasses delivering vehicles.
  41. R

    Vancouver BC VIN .

Has anyone who ordered at the end of April/beginning of May been contacted for delivery? The salesperson told me my vehicle was assigned last week and was already in Vancouver but I have yet to see the VIN or any updates on my account. Sales can provide any closer timeline for delivery

BC EV rebate to run out of money soon?

As mentioned above, CEV for BC should be topping up the incentive funds with $42M before they run dry. I placed my order April 27 before the mayhem began and I have yet to hear anything from Tesla about delivery. I’ve called a couple times to the dealerships and they couldn’t provide any further...

BC EV rebate to run out of money soon?

Dealers have the option of reserving the BC incentive funds at the time of one ordering If the vehicle isn’t available in stock. According to Tesla West Van this isn’t their practice and they only reserve funds at time of delivery. I have also heard they may reserve at time of VIN assignment...

BC EV rebate to run out of money soon?

Yes it appears you’re correct. “ To be eligible for the Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles program, you have to purchase or lease: a vehicle with six seats or fewer, where the base model (trim) Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is less than $45,000; higher priced versions...

BC EV rebate to run out of money soon?

Tesla launches cheaper Model 3 with 150km range in Canada to get $5,000 incentive Total MSRP can not exceed $55k with options added. The $55k max is exclusive of delivery, levies, taxes. That why the RWD LR does not qualify at $60,500 (I would have picked that over the SR+).

BC EV rebate to run out of money soon?

I called and spoke with CEV for BC. They said that $46M of funding has been renewed for 2019/2020 however they are waiting for the money from the government. There is no eta however the money has been requested. As Ken604 mentioned above, these funds were allocated during the 2019 provincial...

BC EV rebate to run out of money soon?

Tesla’s official line is yes however I know they can reserve the funds for you but choose not to unlike other dealers. They don’t seem to want to claim as “on order” that and make you wait until the day of to see if you qualify. Very frustrating as they have such poor communication and you’re...
