    Auto-Pilot Minimum Speed?

This just happened, so I haven't gone through and reviewed all of the details for the latest update which was downloaded yesterday. I'll review it today, but thought someone may have a quick reply. I was driving down a local two lane road and wanted to try out of the auto-pilot. The road has...

    Summon Parking Experiences?

I had an odd experience with my Model S backing up in my driveway. There were cars parked on the right side of the driveway and a retaining wall, which has a graduating height from 4 inches at the street to about 2 feet at the garage. The summon park feature works well here in concept as I...

New to the forum - have i ordered to right car?

First, it looks like you covered more than enough bases for an excellent Model S. Enjoy the experience! I do agree with another post made, regarding the 21" tires. They look good, however at a price. The ride with 21's is harder than that of the 19's. The wear factor also is not as good as with...

Am I going to regret leaving off the air suspension option?

No, no need to feel at all disappointed. I owned a Model S with it and now own a Model S without it and as far as normal driving goes, I have not noticed any difference. I may of felt differently if I had to drive a lot over various high bumps in the road or driveways, etc. But from a ride and...

    Change in Heating System?

I noticed when driving a loaner from Tesla upon a recent service appointment that the heat was almost non-existent. It was a cold, rainy day and when I turned the thermostat up all the way to 76, the heat did not go on. Now back in own 2015 S 85, with the weather getting colder, I'm noticing...

How much did your electric bill go up?

While rebates are still around, I would strongly suggest solar panels. After one year since having them installed I just received a credit for $150 from PSEG. So in essence, the cost was free driving. Solar and EV just go together.

    Spotify

I do like Slacker, often calling out a group or song with the idea of maybe finding other music. Then I'll make a mental note and follow up with Apple Music on my iPhone. Also, like others noted, Bluetooth my Apple Music via the iPhone to my car. I really like Apple Music better than my old...

Where the Autopilot Doesn't Work (List)

My 2015 S85 goes in fit AP activation on the 16th. Honestly I'm both excited and aprehensive. The notes made in this thread are really helpful. What instruction (live and document) is given at time of picking up an AP activated S? I see someone mentioned that Elon had already noted "no use"...

70D range vs 85 dealer says they are almost the same range

I recently moved up from a 60 to an 85, with the first idea of moving up to a 70D. I would say that the reply posts on this thread are on point. My range perspective is this: my 60 gave me 180 miles rated charge, with 200-209 fully charged. Time at a super charger is significantly longer than...

Tesla Model S 60 Sale Value

I just sold a S 60 with 16,000+ miles and fewer options than yours. Basically mine was standard S 60 with a panoramic roof, active air suspension, twin chargers and upgraded to supercharger configuration. I had ordered a new S 90 and not wanting to own two Tesla's, I was aggressive on price and...

    V7 - Apps not Displayed

Noting the comment from Flatfix911 I tried again pushing the selector switch and it worked. I'm not sure if I just didn't push it definitively before or if the apps popped up after a restart. In any case, the apps are appearing and are really cool. You are correct Duma, this is my second Model...

    PowerPack... for home! Why not?

I'm a bit late in reply to this thread, but it seems a good place for a question. I have both a Tesla MS 85 and solar panels, which I own. I live on Long Island in NY, PSEG my utility company. Currently my monthly electric bill is $12.00, which covers the 100 amps for my HPWC and 200 amps for...

    V7 - Apps not Displayed

I've had my new Model S 85 for just about two weeks when V7 was downloaded. Reading the notes regarding the apps, it seems some are not displaying on my MS. Actually, the right section of apps, controlled by the thumb roll on the steering wheel remain the same. The clock, as well the other...

S70 vs S70D? Air suspension worth it?

I own a S60, which has the air suspension. I have just placed an order for S85 with very few options. I test drove the D70, without air suspension and after some discussion decided it just was not an option I needed. I did not notice it when I had my S60. I was going to order the D70, but for...

    Next Gen Seats?

Thanks for all of the comments. On my test drive, you could really feel the support of the Next Gens. My wife and I are "fit", so no problem with being too large. Part of the reason for moving up to the 70D is for the added mileage, as would like to venture off on some more trips and 50 miles...

    Next Gen Seats?

I'm working on ordering a P70D and am going back and forth on whether to spend the $2500 for the Next Gen Seats. I test drove the P70D which had them and they really did offer great comfort. Yet, I was in the car for maybe 20 minutes. My P60 has the standard seats, which are also comfortable...

    Buying Used Model S85?

I have been considering for awhile now whether or not to move up to a 85. I currently own a early vintage (3/2013) MS 60 with only 14,000 miles. I've discussed trade in options with Tesla, and have also looked at selling my MS 60 privately and either purchasing or buying a new MS 85. What I have...

    Calibrating Backup Lines

Nice job. I back into my driveway, which has another car on one side and a retaining wall on the other and have noticed that the lines really do not help for side-to-side distance. However, they can be of some assistance in range from back of the auto to an object. It would have nice if the...

    Help me Spec a 60 or 85 . . .

I purchased the 60 and later on added on the "Supercharger Enable" for $2500. Although the 60 is just fine for my day-to-day use, I have found that the 85 would have made my driving experience on trips nicer. Driving in freezing cold weather, the loss of driving distance measures about 20 %...

    Tire Repair Kit - Afterwards?

On our trip back from St. Michaels to Long Island, I decided to take some local streets across Staten Island to bypass bumper-to-bumper traffic on 678. All went well, except we got a flat. The good part was that we had the Tesla Tire Repair Kit on board and it worked fantastic. We were back up...

Trip to Maryland - Cold Weather Driving

Thanks for all of the response. Here a few added points. After each stop I also turned the heat on while plugged into a supercharger. The...

Owning a Tesla is awesome, until you get into an accident...

I had a small dent in the wheel well that happened in a parking lot, along with a small dent from a shopping cart (all in one occurrence). Long story short, the cost to fix was over $4,000. State Farm paid it, then the next day dropped the coverage on my Tesla. As it was explained to me, the...

Ski/snowboard and bike rack on my P85D

    Eastern Long Island - Montauk

Taking a trip to Montauk for the holiday and wondered if any Tesla owners out on the south fork of Long Island can recommend a place to charge. The P85 is now obsolete.

Funny, just yesterday I had a guy, a car buff with a Jaguar follow me after parking to discuss my Model S. The common thread always ends up with a question about the value of the Model S in the future, to which my answer is always, "not sure, due to technology only getting better". So, agreeing...

    Trade In for P85?

Meant standard MS60 to MS85. Back in 2013 the price difference was $10,000. - - - Updated - - - I did figure that trading up with a Tesla is probably not much different tha with any other vehicle. In NY, the sale tax is 8.65 %, so it certainly comes into play. I guess what I am hoping is that...

    Trade In for P85?

I currently own a P60 (P4001) and have had the car for about 1 1/2 years. It was last year where I found that I missed an important part regarding options when ordering my P60. I was on I95 in Connecticut and pulled into Milford to a fairly new Tesla supercharger platform. Upon plugging my P60...

Are you kidding me? What can I say, I have a downeast style boat with twin Yanmar diesel motors. Regen and Brake Lights - Highway Issue

Reading through this thread, all seem to have valid points. So even in my first ride, I did try to regulate my deceleration with the pedal...

Just scraped my baby against the garage door.

I just went through this after having a minor dent in my wheel well. I suggest taking either to a Tesla approved shop or another shop that handles aluminum like an approved BMW, Mercedes shop. Cost is big though. I had a small dent in the door and the wheel well from a parking lot mishap (I...

Does your Model S fit in your garage?

I tried. My garage is an attached one car garage, and I arranged it so that the MS would fit. However, the fit was so tight, that pulling in and out on a normal basis was just too difficult. Besides, once in opening the doors was tight. I ended up buying the Tesla cover, which actually is really...

How much is free Tesla Supercharging worth?

I'm not sure if I would consider the Tesla Supercharger as "free". Owning a P60, I was unaware that the car was not configured for supercharger use until I pulled up to the one in Milford CT. I called Tesla on my cell and they configured my MS online remotely, so that I could charge up and...

    Cost of repair crazy high

You are correct in that auto body repairs that require any parts can be very expensive. I had a minor dent in the wheel well that occurred from a parking lot mishap. State Farm Dropped My Insurance

SF Insurance Drop Reason I did find out the exact reason for the non-renewal. It had to do with a claim. State Farm Dropped My Insurance

I just received a letter in mail from State Farm Insurance, who I have used to insure all of the cars I've owned since I was 25 (I'm now 56 - long time). In a nutshell, the letter states that State Farm will not renew my policy for my Model S. I own two other cars, which are not affected...

    Roof Rack Install and Disassembly

I am looking into the Tesla roof rack system for carrying our bicycles on trips. One main concern I have is that I would like to remove the roof rack when not in use. folding bike that fits in the frunk?

My wife and I are boaters and take trips up and down the mid to northeast coastline. We also like to ride bicycles, so of course we bring them along. Tesla Owners in New York City

I'm out in Suffolk County on the south shore. I picked my Model S up in Chelsea, where we have an apartment and head to Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Manhattan often. Don't get mad, but I actually take my Mini Cooper into NYC more than my Model S. It's not the charging, as much as it is the...

Older Teslas limited to 90kW Supercharging

Can't be. I have a P60, # 4001. Mine worked at the Milford CT, but only after I had it configured to do so. The P60 does not come standard configured to work with a supercharger. It's a software update and an additional $2500. Give Tesla a call and take out your credit card.

    New Grill Design

Just be honest, I do not like it at all... It makes the Model S look like it has a gas engine and needs the air intake for a radiator. In other words, it makes the Model S look typical. Sorry.

Quite dissatisfied with post-sales service - any useful contacts?

JFK Supercharger - NYC first TESLA TAXI CAB

In any case, it is great that Tesla is placing a SC in the New York area. I am sort of at a loss for why they have not considered Long Island, perhaps just into Suffolk County near 495 and Rte 110. For commuters and especially for those who have to make customer visits, this would assist in...
