Have any of you had this message appear for a while and then actually saw movement (got VIN, took delivery)?

"A delivery experience specialist is reviewing your changes and will contact you prior to delivery"

I feel like I've had this displayed forever. And every week that I call in I get the same response - no VIN, no delivery specialist assigned. Starting to lose faith in that Sept - Nov estimate being displayed.

It would be nice if everyone posting to this thread included the first 2-3 digits of their VIN.

Finally got my Vin and delivery Date
Wonder if I should be concerned with a 696XX Vin when there are those getting 100k
The 100k VINs hit the east coast about a week ago.

If you are getting a VIN under 90K, then it likely means your car did not pass QA and required some minor work, most commonly paint correction. It takes Tesla 1-3 weeks to ship cars from CA, and then 1-4 weeks (varies by market) to correct body and paint issues.

My VIN is 87xxx; Tesla said it needed minor paint work.

My VIN is 77XXX and I’ve had it assigned since 8/27. It just arrived at the service center yesterday. How can you generalize that if your VIn is under 90K that it likely did not pass QA? I thought VIN’s were not sequential? The telling sign will be to look at the door jamb and find the manufacture date. Since I’ve had the VIN since August the manufacture date should correlate.

Yes. There is a major logic flaw in the under 90K comments. Can we say slippery slope.

It’s certainly true that VIN assignment numbers do not always reflect build order, because different blocks of VINs are assigned to different production lines at Fremont right before production begins (e.g., a block 100 VINs on one line will likely finish well before a block of 10,000 VINs on another line). That said, you can see your manufacture month on the inside of the front door, and, to this point, the manufacture month is highly correlated with the VIN assignment month. As I understand it, within a given VIN assignment block, VINs are sequentially assigned to cars as they are manufactured (on that particular production line).

You can always check your delivery date (from Fremont) at Delivery Receipts - United Road.

I ordered a Blue/AWD/LR/Black Interior/Non performance/Non EAP/19" wheels.
I upgraded to white interior when available, and when the change was made they also upgraded to performance and assigned 18" wheels.
I called and called and called and said I didn't want performance. They changed it back to non performance, but still left the 18" wheels on.
A month went by of contacting and trying to change back to 19" wheels.
They said it was their fault the website shows 18" wheels, but the factory has the 19" order.

Fair enough. Mistakes happen. I'm a huge fan and they claim it is taken care of. I'll patiently wait.

Received a call last week saying car is in transport.
I was given VIN: 997XX
Delivery in around Sept 19. to Devon, PA.

They claim car was shipped with 18" wheels.
All week I called and emailed and attempted to escalate my case.
They said they cannot swap out the wheels, I'll have to wait for a new car if I want 19" wheels.
I said I'll take it with the 18" wheels because I am not waiting.
They said sorry for the hassle, they will do a home delivery because of the inconvenience.

I was happy. Extremely frustrated with the experience, but they were attempting to make it right.

I paid for the car in full 2 days ago because that is required for home delivery.
Yesterday my account was updated to show car with 19" wheels.

I call and call and call. Finally someone tells me they assigned the car with 18" wheels that I paid for to someone else.
I need to wait for a new VIN and car with 19" wheels and that could be a long time.

More calling and calling and calling. No one knows anything.
A manager is "supposed" to call me today.

Delivery Hell.

**UPDATE**
Manager just called. New car with 19" wheels is on one of the several trucks headed to the East Coast. Currently in the Mid-West. He said he expects I should still take delivery by end of month. Gave me a new VIN: 100XXX. Promised to give me an update on Tuesday. I thanked him for the update and said I would quit bugging them...until Tuesday.
