Has anyone broken through the contracts/paperwork "freeze" yet?

yup,

Fremont Delivery Hub.
Original Delivery Schedule : Last Saturday, waited 7 hours only to take a Lyft home. Took Monday off from work because they told me contracts would be ready on Monday, NOPE. Tuesday Morning got a call saying it'll be ready at 2pm. Just sign and drive. I got there at 2 waited another 4 hours. Got my car first thing Glove BOX is busted either wait some more... for them to try to get it fix or go home with car and schedule an appointment with service center.

Send me ISR and Delivery people an email 24 hours NO RESPONSE. Going to drive to delivery center again to make sure they capture everything else wrong with car.

WORST CAR DELIVERY EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

That sucks ... sorry to hear.

I would have posted earlier but too busy enjoying my new ride that I picked up yesterday! I was freaking out about not getting the MVPA in time for delivery (Wed, 10:30am) mainly because the credit union needed time to process and cut a cashiers check etc. When I got to the service center they acknowledged the contracts delay was their problem and not mine and let me take the car. Admittedly I did put down a hefty chuck of cash (cashiers check from my bank) so 'only' $22k was left to be financed from the credit union. I signed paperwork there and they were happy. Will drop the CU check over later - no deadline, no pressure from Tesla. I was expecting much worse and then chasing all over town to get the CU check but it was all very smooth. Nice recovery Tesla, IMO.
Oh yeah, and the car is freaking awesome. I can't describe in words what it's like. Admittedly, first Tesla, first EV, but coming out of a fairly recent Merc C class, the rest of the car industry should be worried. Very worried.

That's a great story to hear! And very reasonable of them to do that since it is not our problem! My delivery is this Sunday, July 29 and just like everybody else, I don't have the contract yet.

Called around and ISA said she can provide me with a letter of guarantee and a pro forma invoice. My CU (USC) is also very supportive about it and are willing to review whatever documents Tesla can provide without the contract and assured me we'll make it happen!

Crossing all my fingers and toes at this point!!

I keep getting answers from my ISA (which is a positive), but the answer every time is "very soon!". It's been this same answer for a week now.

I got a VIN and got the money together almost 2 weeks ago, which is now just sitting in my account waiting to be paid to Tesla. Frustrating.

Same problem
Been a week waiting for documents on car sale
Made a mistake using Houston as delivery point
I’m in Louisiana and should have gone with Franklin, Tn
Only 125 miles further, and a OEM dealer
Turning into the worst part of the purchase
Sold trade in order to go with cash sale
Hasn’t seemed to help

Good luck to you. I got an email+phone from my ISA (who was great) with a 'final' number which was the amount left after financing etc. The service center and ISA both called the night before and said bring check book in case the final final number was a tad higher. They would refund if there was an overage. So, it all worked out.
I was also thinking it would be chaotic at delivery with so many people and backups and people being herded around in groups etc. In the end, it was all very Apple store-like. Lots of smiling people, more staff than customers, no one appeared rushed or stressed. We got personal attention and could have stayed longer with questions in we wanted to, but after waiting 2+ years I just wanted to drive it. Obviously Orlando is not Fremont but they were still doing 13 deliveries that day and I was still made to feel special.

In limbo here too. Scheduled for delivery saturday afternoon. I need the final purchase order to send to my credit union so they can wire the money to tesla. My tesla rep is very friendly and apologetic, but said she could not tell me when the backlog of purchase orders would be cleared, and it sounds unlikely that it will be in time for me to pick up my car this weekend.

How hard is it to send out a contract that says the final price of the car? What exactly is the delay? Still excited for the car, but once again, this high tech company is suffering from high tech problems. The areas where they should excel, they are failing.

Furthermore, building a car is hard. Lots of things can go wrong. Lots of problems will be hard to find and won't show up til later.

But building billing software should be much easier. No heavy machinery. Just time and attention. That a tech company could screw up such simple tech is not a good sign.

Update: The ice has been broken! I have a delivery date of 8/17.

ISA called and said the contract is finally available and I could pay online. Did so and called her, she immediately got me on the schedule for delivery.

10 days of waiting (when they told me 24 to 48 hours) finally over.

There is hope!

So jealous! I'm on day 11 right now... Hopefully mine is close behind!

Thanks for the update.

How far out did they schedule the delivery? North Houston SC right? And did they give you the name of a delivery specialist there?

Appreciate it

Delivery date is 8/17 at North Houston. 8/14 was the earliest date she offered.

Two others who have taken delivery there recently posted (in the Texas Hold Up thread) that their cars arrived almost a week early and the SC called to tell them they could come and pick up early if they wanted so I am hopeful.

No I don't have a Delivery Specialist contact yet.

Count me as another Houston delivery waiting on MPVA to ship the car. Been waiting on the contract since 7/18.

No trade in. Using Tesla partner CU and they are just waiting to send the money.

I haven’t seen a VIN in my account (where should it be), but my ISA said I was matched to a car already.

Austin delivery waiting on MVPA as well. I've been waiting since 7/17. I have a VIN assigned and everything. Just waiting on the MVPA so I can sign it and get it to my credit union to finance. This has been one of the more frustrating parts of the experience. My ISA keeps telling me that the contracts team is running behind and that there is no ETA on when to expect the final contracts.

We are literally on the same boat lol. Is your ISA Devon?

Ugh.. mine is "requested" whatever that means. Hopefully it won't be too long.

Same situation with me in Austin. Just waiting for MVPA. ISA is Stephanie.

Has anyone else in TX other than LonestarV received their MVPA yet?

I am in the same boat as many previous posters. No trade-in cash customer with a VIN going on 16 days now. I keep emailing my ISA and get the same apologetic response that the contracts team is behind and there is nothing she can do. It almost seems that the Texas contracts have been put on the bottom of the stack
