HW3 Install Time

For those who have had the HW3 upgrade how long did it take?

my SC is saying it will take a day (overnight) as they need to calibrate the cameras, drive it, and also check for any overheating post install.

Is this a normal timeframe?

I've seen reports of anywhere from "2-3 hours" to "2-3 days" seems to vary a lot.

It depends on what kind of day your tech is having. If things go smoothly and your tech has many upgrades under his/her belt, 1.5 hour is possible.

On a bad day, 1.5 weeks is possible.

Tesla is having me drive to the Austin service center which is 3hrs from my house instead of the Dallas service center which is only 1hr from my house. I really hope the tech's are having a good day and I don't have to make the whole drive twice. Do loaner Tesla's have access to the Supercharger network?

Mine was just under 24 hours. Dropped it off at 9am, got the text at 830am next morning that it was ready for pickup. SC said it took longer than same-day because they were scheduling 10-15 of them a day (Burbank, CA)

Before I'm going to drive 220 miles to my closest SC, I'm going to make sure I'm first for the day and promised a loaner (if things go bad) so I don't have to worry taking more time off from work and getting a last-minute hotel room.

My HW3 upgrade took about 3 hours. The cameras were calibrated when I got the car back...

Just 2.5 hours for me last weekend. Painless install. I only had to reset wifi and bluetooth.

Mine was dropped off on Thursday....

Need HW3 upgrade / New rear tires / and a check of the BMS software due to strange eff Wh/mile numbers...

Doesn't look like I will see it until Monday...

Mine took 3 days and they didn't even have firmware issues, they were just busy at the shop.

3 days, busy at the shop (Renton, WA). From what I understand, the install itself was just a couple of hours.

Dropped off at 10:30am, ready at 5pm. One door seal repaired during visit as well. All settings were lost, and cameras began to calibrate when I starting driving away (took about 8-10 miles of city driving)....

I had my done in Charlotte NC in at 8am and out by 11:00. They said it would be done by 5:00 I ask if I could wait since I lived a few hours away and it was done by 11:00.

Retrofit (w/rewiring needed)

Rear tires replaced.
