Do you, when delivering a car to the owner, explain to them that the car is not an "Autonomous Car" and that it doesn't drive itself in that sense and Autopilot is actually a driving assistance?

(I think many owners and the general public actually has a misinformed idea that Autopilot means the car drives itself, because it seemingly to them does, and they also seem to think Autopilot in aircrafts mean the plane flies itself, which it also technically not true.)

Does Tesla have a policy where they require you to let the owners know at delivery that they need to remain attentive when using Autopilot?Because there are those who come here claiming they don't know, didn't read manual, and somehow didn't read the message in front of them when activating Autosteer. And then there are those who think Autopilot is at fault because it doesn't allow you to be less attentive.

Thanks!

I do not think that anyone gets a discount at Tesla. Elon Musk was famous for making his own mother wait in line for her Model 3 for example. Plus even Elon pays full price for his cars. Tesla does not discount anything because they do not want someone who has connections getting a better deal than someone else. We have all experienced our neighbor negotiating a better deal with a car dealer and feeling 'ripped off'.

Tesla absolutely has and does discount new cars. For example, below is a link to a new (which means it also still qualifies for EV incentives) 2018 build Model S P100D for nearly $18K off retail. Some have talked about discounts of a few thousand to $30K or more on new Teslas. If by "discount" you mean "negotiate" I'd say that is less common.

That's a loaner.

Ahhh the swag! We had them taken away from us (along with other things like coffee machines, snacks, etc.) in an effort to cut costs a while back. They removed it from showrooms as well. Basically, the swag is now an "escalation only" resolution. Plus we literally don't have anything in most locations to give in the first place. You might get a Tesla-branded pen though!

Odd that someone who represents him/herself as a delivery specialist for many years wouldn't know that.
I can see how he might not know - if you don't have a Tesla, probably never inquired.

But hopefully people here remember that the answers are one person's POV & not for all of Tesla. I think it's great that he's here sharing what he knows, we just need to keep it in context.

Why would they? They aren't involved in the ordering process are they? Isn't that the OAs job?

Which also applies to answers given regarding sales, service, etc.

Nope! I've been out for a while now thank god. Everybody there is either miserable or brainwashed by the CEO like the stepford wives

Just wanted to say thank you. I totally get how a lot of you that work (or worked) at Tesla may be feeling that. I can only imagine the immense pressure you guys are under. I do think it's mostly startup pains and things will eventually reach a pleasant steady state, and ultimately the ends (major step forward for sustainable energy and transportation) justify the means. I hope you all hold on to the TSLA stock you received as that will be a direct (but delayed) reward for your contributions in the years to come.
