Tesla Model S: 4960Lbs Model S On TRUCK Scale! THIS IS HEAVY DOC!
====================================
This is a Snippet from my Upcoming South Carolina Road Trip Video. Well, Vinny did a dasterdly deed and Pooped in the car (in his diaper though) so I had to get off the freeway at the only reasonably distanced exit, a weigh in truck scale...... (thankfully, they at least had a trash can.....)

Anyways, thought it would be fun to drive up on the scale as we left. It seems to be out of calibration though, showing 2520k Lbs without any vehicle on it. This means, fully loaded with all our gear, myself, and the kids, My Model S clocks in at 4960Lbs!!!
So we now Know how much a model s weighs!

Tesla Adventures: Charleston Road Trip 2015 w/American History!
=========================================
End of July to Beginning of August 2015. We took a road trip from Milwaukee, WI to Charleston, SC for my birthday, and visited my friend Le. It was a SORT trip, we were only in Charleston for 3 days. But we had fun. That was my first time to South Carolina, and it was beautiful!
Started off at Highland Park, Illinois service center to Supercharge. That was only 60.1 miles from my home, but charging at HP allows us to skip the other Illinois Superchargers and give us a bigger head start through Chicago Traffic.
We stopped on a Truck Scale, after doing a quick diaper change for Vinny. Cincinnati, OH Service center was AMAZING! They even have a private Lounge for Tesla Owners open 24/7, accessible by pass code found on the center screen!
Overall, it was a fun trip. It was short, but also relaxing. It is stressful taking care of the boys by myself, especially on trips, so a short trip was a little more refreshing. The big West Coast trip, left me drained and tired, but at least the boys had fun on that one too.
And since we were visiting my friend Le, her help with the boys made things even more enjoyable! We did a lot in 3 days. Including a awesome horse carriage tour of Historic Downtown Charleston.

Hope you guys enjoyed The General, that museum is around the block from my house. Used to go there on field trips all the time as a kid, now I only go when I want to drag out-of-towners there.

Sorry about the humidity.
Yes, enjoyed it completely! I drive a narrow gauge replica American Class Loco that was built int he 40's for the Historical Railway I volunteer at here in Wisconsin. Riverside Great Northern Railroad

Tesla Model S/III/X: Camper Mode WHILE Charging HOW-TO!!!
======================================
Camper Mode. The term given, for keeping a Electric Vehicle "Active" (HVAC) enabling one to sleep in a electric vehicle, to keep things running. Weather that is to keep you warm, or cold. Usually, do do this, you would need to place the vehicle in Neutral, then apply the emergency brake. The car would then consider that the vehicle is still in "Drive Mode" , and will disable the shutdown timer on the HVAC (Normally 30 minutes on Tesla Vehicles).

Well, unfortunately, this does not work while charging. So if you want to catch a few kWh while catching a few Zzz's, it won't happen, That is, Until now. Using the Remote S app on your phone, you can now enable camper mode, and charge at the same time. Watch this video, and I'll show you how! Relitively simple, and you'll wonder why you never did this before!

This will work with the Model S, Upcoming Model III's, and the Model X.
So this is the best option to keep your electric car heat running while charging!

I would like to just give a bit of a update.
Thanks to Bjorn, and his spare invitation, I will be attending the Model 3 event with him and his Wifey. I will also be attending the Gigafactory Event due to having more then enough referrals for that event.
Tonight, with the help of a small, but awesome group of my viewers, we managed to get Live Stream working properly to stream from my iPhone, directly to my YouTube channel.

So, along with a extra large portable USB Battery Pack (I killed a full phone battery in less then 1 hour, from 100% down to 10%), I will be broadcasting the Model 3 event Live, and the Gigafactory Event Live Directly to my channel.

I will update more on that as we get closer to the events. Please stay tuned!

Awesome!

Thanks in advance.
Yep :) I am learning all the controls. I've had access to Live stream for almost 2 years now, but, It would never work. Never connect. But it's all figured out now. Adaptive bit rate was hit or miss, and got fairly choppy, but the stream at 384kbps at 480p from the phone over the cellular network, was actually very clear. I will try more experimentation. We had a fun group of people last night!

Thank God for unlimited 4g data plans.......

Seat wear video, after 2 1/2 years and 80,000 miles is coming tomorrow! Followed by my First ever drive of my new 90D, and my first impressions of it vs my 2013 + trying out autopilot for the first time! This is going to be a busy couple of weeks coming up! I've already found a few "Hacks" for getting it to summon and steer around corners and what not instead of programmed in straight lines! And I have a few more ideas to test on that as well! Just, wow.... Tesla, you have completely amazed me! Did not realize Autopilot was this awesome! I can just image what Autonomous will be like!

Welcome to the 'I am blown away by AP' club.
Darn Right!
Had to drive back to Highland Park to do more paperwork, Almost fell asleep, highway hypnosis got me!

Tesla Model S: Textile Seat Wear after 80,000 Miles and 2 1/2 years of Heavy Use!
======================================
Well, today is the day. I will be dropping off my 2013 Model S at Highland Park Tesla Service and Sales Center this afternoon, and returning home with my new 2016 Model S 90D.
Viewer Request, and my own thoughts, why not show the Textile Seat Wear after 2 1/2 years and 80,000 Miles of hard use. So here we are! After seeing this, I'd be hard pressed to ever get the leather, which I have not seen wear nearly as well as the Textile! Zero damage, accept for a small puncture from a Window Air Conditioner that I was delivering to a family member that poked a hole in the Vinyl!

Please keep in mind, I do take care of my property, and when I detail/clean my vehicle, I also apply a cheap Leather & Vinyl Conditioner product to the non-cloth portions of the interior. The big thing this helps with is preventing UV Damage and dry rot.

Cheers!

Tesla Motors Model S: 90D First Impressions, Autopilot And Drive VS my old 2013 Classic Model S
===========================================
So here it is Folks! I have finally gotten the 90D, and all I can say is, WOW!!! In just 2 1/2 years, Tesla Motors has made this much of a advancement!
Just absolutely amazing!
So come ride along with me and the Geno, as we take the 90D for it's very, FIRST ride. We start off departing the Highland Park, Il service center, where we picked up the car, and head North to Milwaukee, Wi.
Along the route, in my grand old fashioned road trip Drives (My first one was partly what kicked off the tesla portion of the channel wayy back in 2013 before we even had superchargers!) I will be chatting away as I "Explore" this new 90D, and test it's new features and functions, and do some initial comparisons between my old 2013 and my new 2016 Model S's.
And the first person who catches the VIN number difference between my original and this one, gets a virtual cookie!

This is filmed in 4k UltraHD for most detail. So if your computer or tablet is fast enough, even if you don't have a 4k monitor, crank up the resolution to see the most details on the Center and Dash Screens!!!

CHAdeMO Charger in Myrtle Beach Back-feed causing Touchscreen Issues on Classic Model S
==============================================
While on a Road Trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, we happened upon a Nissan Dealership that had a Slim Nissan CHAdeMO Station. For starters, these Slim stations are notorious for over-heating. Thankfully, though, it did not.
Strangely though, noticed some odd behavior of the cars touch screen and controls while charging. Once charging started, the touch screen went Wonky, selecting other parts of the screen then were being touched. See the video for details. Once charging was complete, and CHAdeMO Station Disconnected, everything was back to normal. I will state, this is the first time anything like this has happened to me, and I use CHAdeMO Stations Regularly.
What it appears, is some sort of voltage leak to ground, which was passing through the frame of the car. Since my touch screen in my old 2013 was grounded last summer due to lack of response, it appears this "back-Feed" caused some interference. Also, the initial startup of the CHAdeMO Charge, the station does a insulation test to check for this very thing, and it PASSED! CHAdeMO is night, but seems to have so many issues with the stations.
