Should we use this thread, or a different one, to track the cars we bought to fill the gap between Elon Time and reality?

Ok, now you are seriously just a clown. Admitting they move the higher margin cars first, denying FSD orders won’t be prioritized even though it’s 100% profit, and asking why the animosity...I agree with most of what you said, except for the FSD portion. Ask the person you know in Carlsbad and get back to us.
Clearly, as you know because I believe you made a second reservation, Tesla admittedly prioritizes the Plaid. The website shows delivery months before a LR. You pint out the higher cost models going out first. What’s wrong with that? Tesla is a publicly owned company in business to make a profit. I understand people being upset because they sold their vehicle based upon the belief they would receive their new Model S in March, but why the animosity because Tesla is delivering the higher priced version first? Part of the reason I purchased a P85D was because it would come sooner. Same reason you just made a reservation on a Plaid, no?
I called it.If everything continues to progress as it has been, the announcement will be at noon on December 5th.
Can confirm the Dec 5th date too, spoke to my trusted SA: Mr Loki.I called it.
You aren’t nearly cynical enough. Can I take the over on that bet?I called it.
I'm sticking around because all the Tesla owners assure me the wait is worth it. Once I see my vehicle, I expect it to be presented well, and the condition of the build to be amazing. If it is not, I am perfectly fine with walking away and just saving my money for another time. You aren’t nearly cynical enough. Can I take the over on that bet?
Have to really wonder how buggy the hardware and software will be on the Plaids. Makes me wonder if paying $130k to be a guinea pig is worth it...

I make my living off of attention to detail. It's going to be a rough day if there are any flaws to observe. I won't be able to overlook them. Just ask my wife. I regularly ruin things by not being able to avoid seeing the errors.
If that’s the case, you bought the wrong car from the wrong company. Good luck with that.I'm sticking around because all the Tesla owners assure me the wait is worth it. I haven't bought it yet.If that’s the case, you bought the wrong car from the wrong company. Good luck with that.
Well, time for bed. I'll catch up on the next 20 pages when I wake up. I do hope Elon realizes this kind of thing has Tesla fans rooting for a competitor.

What if its another S--which thread should I use?Should we use this thread, or a different one, to track the cars we bought to fill the gap between Elon Time and reality?
I feel like we are on the same page with most of this, but I don’t really understand your reluctance to see the FSD package in the same light. Last quarter, Tesla’s gross margin per car exceeded 20%. So, on a LR car that starts at $80,000, it probably cost Tesla approximately $67,000 to manufacture. It also costs $67,000 for Tesla to manufacture a $90,000 Model S with FSD. Tesla’s profit margin on the FSD car just went from 20% to 34%. Since FSD is still in beta, Tesla can only recognize approximately 50% of the FSD package as GAAP Revenue and the remaining revenue gets deferred.I agree with most of what you said, except for the FSD portion. Ask the person you know in Carlsbad and get back to us.

Agreed, remember when it felt like the customer came first?Folks.. gotta say this. Latest tweet is totally unacceptable. What if SpaceX was run this way? It's not, because they have a competent person, Gwenn, running that company.
It is incontrovertible the Tesla of today is not the same Tesla of 2012-2018
If you have a running car, keep it until this nonsense blows over. It might be the only option is MYP or M3P. They are the bread and butter of this company, not "Dessert"
It will be hard, but I will try to be content with 0-60 in 4.2 seconds for the next year or so.
