Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Mine was given an expected date of July 17-31st. My DS called me and asked if I wanted to put it in for early pick up. I just got the news today that it was available. I think there are slots at the factory left. Just need to talk to your DS once he contacts you :)

The good news is that I think P85/P85+ are getting priority.

That's great to read!!! I'll definitely be calling my DS in the morning. Andy (my DS), I know you lurk here...I'll buy you a case of your favorite import if you call me and get my order pushed up a couple of weeks! :D :D :D

It will eventually all be a distant memory anyway... Can't wait to see pics!

Here she is:

I was suppose to pick up my P85+ in Seattle and it was delayed due to logistics delay. I guess they had an issue with the car carrier coming up north.

I know they're are a couple of people on this thread with delivery dates this week, so I thought I'd give you guys a heads up. I'm sure other cars were scheduled for that same car carrier headed for the Pacific NW.

My delivery specialist said he'll give me an update later today.

Vin #14721 finalized June 12 taking delivery tomorrow June 25. 13 days from finalization to delivery. Delivery window was June 28-July 12. Looks like they are ahead of schedule.

Wow have the times changed! I waited 13 hundred + 55 days for my Model S  Although finalization to delivery was about 4 months, reservation to delivery was 1,355 days. Congratulations!

its possible but I wonder how many cars to a carrier. I think there are like 9 or 10 scheduled deliveries on Friday.

Edit: 168, when were you supposed to pick up your car? Let us know what date your delivery get's rescheduled to. I think there will be a major push to get the cars delivered by the end of the month. I'd be happy picking up on Saturday or Sunday.

Although I'm always happy for a new owner getting his/her new Model S, this is really disappointing for me to read.

I finalized on the 9th, and a not expecting delivery until the July 16th to 30th, when original expectation was set for 6/24 to 7/6. Also, had it been communicated by the sales associate that I could, I would have finalized my order on 5/27 when we put our deposit down instead of waiting two weeks for the "auto" confirmation 6/9.

Some line of communication seems to be broken between the sales/stores to the factory and even sometimes with the delivery center. As automated and 'online' as this whole process is, how does Tesla NOT have a 360 degree view of their customer and their order?

Yes, Tesla has internal communications problems. Known problem. Not surprising in a fast growing small company. I bet it's a mishmash of informal connections.

I agree that they can be a bit more communicative. I happen to carefully read over the MVPA they sent me (while obsessively waiting) and noticed the line in there that talks about the auto-wait period and that if you don't want to wait, you should contact your order representative and tell them so. You have a 2 week period built-in so that you can change your mind about configurations, etc.

Well, I didn't get the MVPA until after my order had on to the factory.

I talked to my DS this afternoon, and he said he thought my car would still arrive the afternoon of the 28th.

Also, I suspect that they produce the cars in batches (twenty 85s, thirty 60s, fifteen P85+s, etc), not sequentially, so it's possible that Wooly's order just snuck on at the end of a 85 batch and your order needed to wait for the front of the next P85+ batch.
