Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I was interested in this so I checked out a few manufacturers sites. As far as I could tell, many performance oriented cars are available only with summer tires from the factory regardless of local climate and replacing them with something else is on the customer. Where does this expectation that Tesla should be different come from?
When I participated in the Tesla Video Meeting for North East Buyers on September 7, I asked the question about All Season tires. I was told at the time (in front of about 90 other people in the Tesla Video Forum) that my Plaid would come with All Season Tires. At delivery I had Tesla make a note that the car had the wrong tires on it. I was told that they would change the tires (probably sometime in October).

Now attempting to schedule this and I'm getting pushback from the Service group about the All Season Tires. They are currently checking with Sales and in the mean time, I have no idea what will happen.

I can't imagine driving this car with performance tires this winter. And I'm not going to stop driving it as I purchased this as a daily driver.

I have an appointment to solve other issues on October 13th, and was hoping that they would change the tires at that time.

@asimo3089 Can you post a picture of your rear wheel arches?

My car is in for a full front Suntek Reaction PPF + window tint and I want to have him put film where you are having the problem. He asked for a pic and I find can't anything searching the Internet or this forum... I know pics are here but...wrong...search...words.
I’m out of town or I would!! Basically you need to wrap up to where the car reaches its thinnest point between the door and the wheel.

I’m missing my mobile charger, can you ship it back to me 🙂

I see the adapter from micro SD to SD but how then do you get it to USB for the MS (or is there an SD slot in MS that I am not aware of)?
I went with one of these (this is a NON-affiliate link): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073H552FJ

It fits in an aftermarket box that goes into the center console of the Model 3. It's meant to help hide the storage device used for sentry cam video. Pretty slick deal... the drive is kept hidden behind a door that is NOT easy to see. In fact, to the untrained eye (and even to the trained eye, really) the box looks stock; the USB ports are duplicated to be in the same position as a stock Model 3 center console. So I keep a dummy USB stick in one of those ports, for the "smart" thief that thinks he's grabbing the sentry mode storage device.

The drive itself really isn't very large, and I plan on using the exact same drive in the glovebox of the Plaid when I get it.

Some guys say they're worried about how hot these drives get. I live in the desert, and we see 100F+ temps from May through mid September. I don't use cabin overheat protection, and have yet to have a problem with the drive getting too hot. It has now survived two desert summers worth of heat.

At 1TB capacity, it's plenty large enough to never have to worry about it filling up.

Did anyone else NOT get a cover for the recessed are of the Trunk? My Delivery specialist said they weren't delivered with the vehicle but I would still get it, but I'm not confident.
Seems to be hit or miss. I got mine (both lower trunk cover and the upper (privacy screen) cover came with car at delivery.

I've seen plenty of recent deliveries in this thread where folks were told they would come later. I don't know if those with the "will come later" line have yet received theirs, though.

The USB-A port is now in the glove box (as well for the 3 and Y, actually first on the 3 and Y). So if you put your storage device in there, maybe it is secure?

I also assume the center console USB-C ports still support Sentry / music. I do not think it moved exclusively to the Glovebox. More of an informational statement than anything else. All said, you have options.

I’ll definitely be putting it in the glovebox of the Plaid, but my 3 is too old to have the glovebox USB port.

When I get home, I’ll post a pic of how slick the hide box is in the 3.
