I got a VIN today, 2 days or so after my dates narrowed to 10 days. Will be interested to see where the car is at. (MF)

Got a vin as well! Ending MF454– this means probably built pretty recently yeah?

Call Tesla's regular customer service line. Doesn't have to be your SA. Any of them could look up the build date. I'm really curious but I'm betting October.

Someone did a flyover of Fremont a few days ago and there were 100s of Model S just sitting out there near the test track. Probably waiting for a part or something.

Half shafts!

@Tigers Here's an example of one of those threads...

I think this speculation has reached urban myth proportions.
In 2013, there were problems with inadequate half shaft lubrication. This led to a rash of "drive train replacements". (It was faster and easier to replace the entire drive train - four bolts - than to disassemble the drive train at the SC.)
Anyway, this issue was fixed and hasn't been a problem for at least five years... but the myth lives on.
Speculation that the 42mph vibration that some owners are experiencing is a half shaft issue that goes back to 20

Well, then my vibration is the result of some other defect. Came on around the 2000 mile mark. Not tires or alignment.

Please Elon, give me that VIN please! Please! 😭😭 I can’t take the mental abuse anymore

Could be a problem with the half shafts if you've ruled out tires, balance and alignment.
@mspohr Yes, the issue remained after Tesla swapped summer tires for a winter set up. Tires, balance an alignment were fine. While some reported the fix for their Plaid was new half shafts, it still seems like an electrical phasing problem to me (problematic pole shifting, inverter, drive unit, etc.)

Hello gang, ex-grumpy cat here. I'm conscientious about taking up bandwidth on this thread, as if it ever needed more content, but I did just want to report back with the results of my first two months of life with Nameless (my refresh MS LR). As I spent 9 months ogling pics of all you guys' cars, here are a few of Nameless.

I ended up going with XPEL Stealth all over, ceramic over that and the interior, 35% tint 3/4 around, and black logos fore and aft.

If I'd known about XPEL Stealth before I ordered, though, I would definitely have ordered Nameless in red (well, at least if I'd seen the Stealth over Tesla red). But over the blue ain't bad.

This evening I let a good friend of mine who happens to be a Buddhist meditation center head teacher take Nameless for a spin, and I didn't know Buddhist meditation teachers had such...colorful words in their vocabulary LOL.

[EDIT:] Oh, and I should add that XPEL Stealth somehow makes even the stock 19" plastic hub caps look good. Don't ask me how. I was planning to shop for alloy 19s to replace the stock ones, but now I don't think I'll be needing to.

Wow, that looks fantastic! I'm doing the exact same stealth wrap and tint on my red model S getting delivered next month. I currently drive a blue model 3 and I totally dig the matte blue, big fan.
