Wiki Model S Delivery Update

It's not too quiet true that they won't accept it from you. My DS doesn't have a clue who I'm working with at Alliant, Alliant doesn't have a clue who my DS is. I was the one that started the loan from start to finish. My DS emailed me the MVPA and I emailed it to my alliant guy. My Alliant guy said "great. Whens a good time I can call you to finish up the loan?"

Same here, I ran the loan process from start to finish, however the MVPA from the MyTesla page was rejected by my Alliant loan officer and I was told the document would need to come directly from my DS. Everone has a different experience to share and I don't see that that makes mine 'not quite true'. I was simply trying to help Cnasty get his car as quickly as possible.
So I will put it another way, I had a very responsive Alliant loan officer who reached out to me several times checking to see how my order was progressing. I had a delivery specialist who was swamped with 2Q deliveries and I didn't bother him but once. I put the two people in contact with each other and I believe that that combined with completing all documents and uploading all required files ASAP resulted in my car being delivered significantly before the original delivery window. As alway your mileage may vary.

No need to tell me that what I said wasn't true, everyone has a different experience after all. I was simply trying to help Cnasty get his car as quickly as possible.
Neither of us was calling you a liar (well, at least I was not :D). I think what BrandonR22 and myself meant was that he shouldn't wait for his DS to get around and send it. He should send the MVPA as soon as possible to get the ball rolling. Especially since some Alliant reps seem to be ok with the downloaded copy. That would be the fastest possible way to move things along and best case scenario :)

Your DS will have to send the MVPA to Alliant. The copy that is or will be on your MyTesla page will not work, Alliant requires that the document come from Tesla directly. I would suggest that you find a contact at Alliant that is reliable and place your DS in contact with them directly. At some point MyTesla will prompt you to make your payment. This is the balance due at delivery after Alliant loan funds are applied to the MVPA value. Make this payment ASAP as it does effect when your car goes on the truck (at least I believe it did for me).

We've had our car 18 days now and have been to Yellowstone and back. Hold on a few more days and driving your MS will make you forget that you had any delivery anxiety.

I sent my Alliant rep the copy of the MVPA in my documents (on My Tesla page). He said that was all he needed.

Me too. Perhaps things have changed for the better. I copied my DS when I sent my docs in after pulling it from the MyTesla site. I just need some keys! >

To continue this discussion - what were the last steps to get Tesla the loan money from Alliant? My rep at Alliant has been very responsive and my loan is "done" and he sent an email to my DS saying the same. But I don't have a check from Alliant on any other confirmation of funding yet - is there a final step / am I missing something?

Car still in production, but factory pick-up scheduled for Friday. This week is going to be awful.

The last part was electronically signing the loan docs. It was dodgy. They research your background on the Internet, ask you a bunch of personal questions about previous addresses and family members to confirm their research, and then use the answers to embed "security" questions in the website where you sign the docs. That's not security at all! That's just harvesting personal data to sell to someone else. The emails with links to the doc site are also unencrypted with no digital signatures. I almost rejected them and almost went to another company when I found out! Their security practices are a mess. If I knew in advance I would have picked one of my credit unions.

I appreciate that you were also trying to help Cnasty out, and maybe I shouldn't be so grouchy.
eh, sometimes it's tough to pick up the subtleties in text.

I signed all the "paperwork" online via docusign shortly after completing all the necessary information via phone with my Alliant rep. I noticed my balance on the Tesla page was paid in full (well, at least the full amount I financed). It just sort of happened without any notification. I then paid my remaining balance (part that wasn't financed) via e-check through Tesla's website. I just emailed my Alliant rep yesterday to confirm if I was missing anything. He said I'm "good to go". Keep in mind, I have not heard from my DS in well over a week and I am very confident my car is either at the service center now or will be there before start of day monday. I am dying to make an appt to pick it up.

I don't know if this will make it more or less creepy but I have some experience with this identity verification system. I used to work in software development for a bank and we used the same service to verify online merchant service applications. The questions you saw did not come from the Alliant nor the Document Signing company. It's a paid identity verification service provided by the credit report companies. As part of the deal with the credit reporting folks the questions and answers aren't saved any longer than it takes to transmit your answers to the credit report company and get back a result that says they have verified your identity (with a confidence interval) or they haven't.

In a way, maybe this should scare you more. It's a glimpse into the kind of information the credit reporting companies keep on you in perpetuity.

But at least you should know that you could apply for credit from and number of banks or credit unions and still run into this same kind of identity service.

Hope that helps and enjoy your new ride!

A couple things.

I don't have an MVPA on My Tesla page when I went to the bottom where the documents live.
The last uploaded document is the "New Vehicle Limited Warranty" and that was done on 7/22

Am I looking in the right spot?

My DS said they do not worry about scheduling delivery until the car has arrived so that seems that they will ship the vehicle prior to payment on the car but maybe it was worded incorrectly on his end?

He said the logistics team is working with shipping right now to get it on the truck to here.

I am just so freaking excited that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I didn't take anything offensive and welcome any and all assistance. :)

Exactly. It wasn't written to make you out to be a liar. Cnasty is one city over from me and we might be on the same truck. Im just giving my experience for people who are having the same issue. Try the option of having tesla doing it first, then take matters into your own hands.

The problem with the Alliant security question approach is that if the info is based on Internet searches as was explained to me, which I can confirm based on the questions asked, anyone can do the same research and pretend to be me. That's about as bogus a security measure as issuing credit cards with a chip and forgetting to issue PIN numbers with it, which is what happened in the US unlike Europe. It's almost like some people want to have their systems hacked. The unencrypted emails is like mustard on a sheisse sandwich.

The "Model S Order Agreement" and "Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement" are different. The MVPA also includes the final amount which includes tax and other fees and the order agreement only contains the price of the car + options + delivery fee + referral if you used one. There should be communication from your DS saying that the MVPA has been uploaded or they will actually email it to you. At least that was my experience.

The Order Agreement has all of those items minus the tax and other fees so that makes sense.

My DS is super responsive on Saturdays thankfully and said they do not hold shipping from the factory. They of course just need it prior to delivery at the service center to me.

It should be here within the next week he says!!!!!!!!!!

Deep breath. :)

It specifically says, "Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement". At least, it does on my page. You're looking in the right spot. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it (lol, so much easier said then done). It will show up. Mine showed up on 7/22 and indicated an expected delivery date of Aug 3rd (coming to northern Virginia). That should give you a time frame.

Also, for the record... I polled a few people on TMC and is seems the final MVPA estimated delivery date is very accurate.

I took delivery on the 28th! I picked her up at the factory in Fremont. We did the factory tour beforehand, it was great. Everything went smoothly and the car was picture perfect.

Love the car! The wife was a little skeptical about spending so much on a car but after seeing it she is onboard now. I wound up with the 60D, pano roof, next ten tan seats, pup, obeche glossy wood, black headliner, upgraded sound, and obviously red paint. I really like the combination of red and tan.

Notes- the Obeche wood is really really nice in person. It is hard to see in photographs. It looks far different in person and it goes really well with the tan interior. I'm happy I opted for it.

There still aren't rear cup holders or a second camera in front of the rear view mirror.

Alliant is great because they are offering a great APR. There were a lot of missed emails, and late replies in the process though. I think they are busy, they sorted everything out the day before I took delivery.

I believe it was four weeks from confirmation to delivery.

gotta run but I'll post some more impressions later!
