Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Extremely disappointing. Just heard that my delivery window is now 11/19 to 12/3, a full 2 to 2 1/2 months past the pre-MVPA window I was given, a full 30-45 days past my MVPA date, and a full month past my original target window. So much for a 4-6 week delay past pre-MVPA dates. :(

I am very sorry. I'm now on the other side of the frustration curtain and feeling very fortunate to have gotten my car perhaps a bit earlier than my date of becoming a sig customer would warrant. Interestingly, I am not compelled to drive it as much as I expected, but every time I do, it is a real thrill. I will never get tired of the way it starts so quietly. I have my figures crossed for all of you, particularly sigs, who are waiting, that things will start to fall better into place. Hang in. It will be worth it.

Got a call at 3.30pm saying that the car was ready today! Picked up Sig#565 (VIN 451) at the Tesla Fremont factory this evening. Safely back home now!

Thanks! It's pearl white. Decided to reschedule the factory tour until next week since it was getting late and wanted to get home. I don't know whether the factory floor was fully active, but it's clear some of the folks were around to prep the cars and also manage the sales process.

Gorgeous! It's nice to see the occasional white car among all the Signature Reds.

My friend is taking delivery of his white Sig next weekend as well. Can't wait to see it.

I really Enjoy that picture, you should upload a high res one In the picture thread so I May get a new wallpaper!

May I Ask What kind of tree you have growing on the side? How old is it? if its hardy enough i would Enjoy to get such a tree over my driveway...

All is Good!

Two days afterbeing told, 'the additional delay should only be a week', we received the emailstating, "it's ready". Four hours later our plane landed in San Joseat 7:30 PM, Saturday, 10/20. The factory was "closed" so we met,Neil, our delivery specialist at the gate and he escorted us on to theproperty. We were given a brief tour of the production lines while thepaperwork was processed. I think we were on the road sometime after 9 PM, droveat 75 to 80 MPH and arrived at Harris Ranch shortly before midnight with 53miles of range remaining. The Supercharger (SC) is located next to the old RoadsterHPV charger. The online photo of the solar panel covered, multi-bay carport ISNOT Harris Ranch’s SC, HR has a single bay SC and it’s just a fairly non-descript whiteutility box near the gas station’s convenience store. We plugged-in and let theS charge on it’s own until morning - everything worked perfectly.

We hit the roadthe next morning around 7:30, stopping at Tejon Ranch Supercharger (Exit Laval)for a quick range extension; in the time it took to order a burrito and use thefacilities, we were more than set with energy for the remaining trip home toMonrovia.

My finalthoughts: 1) The Model S is significantly more refined than what we drove onthe Get Amped tour. 2) This is so huge! The S + Superchargers change everything,at no point did we have to spend additional time to charge the vehicle - by thetime the S needed a charge, we needed a break from driving!

Wow! You reacted quickly to the message and so did Tesla! Catching a flight on short notice then having Neil meet you at the factory gate - both are over the top.

I'm wondering what VINs we are into with your delivery. Can you share your VIN?

Our VIN is 285. We were SSL# 255. I believe I saw VIN's up to the 800's but don't quote me, I was exhausted, hungry and low on wits. There is a good amount of S inventory waiting for minor re-work - little details like, gap adjustments or paint repairs. The re-work teams were staffed at 9 PM on a Saturday - They're doing their best!
