Same here, guys (for 3/14 order). For what it's worth, the order specialist called me and said production is scheduled to start the second week of May, with a probable late May delivery (in CA).

That’s was my original DS told me, second week of May build and delivery by month end. Is Efraim (Cathedral City) your DS? Wish I were still working with him but I’m taking delivery in Fremont. I’m in Rancho Mirage btw

Anyone who got their VIN around 3/19? What are you hearing about when your car is scheduled for production?

I got mine on 3/24 and was told late April for production. Have been seeing some start sooner than expected, but it looks like those 3/18 and 3/19 VIN recipients will maybe start a week before mine. Just trying to maybe gauge when to expect mine will start production. I was hoping for next week or the week of the 23rd. We'll see.

I got my VIN on 17 March, Ordered 19 Feb confirmed 22 Feb. My DS says delivery early weeks of May and has said I can apply for credit anytime after 15 April. Since usually loan rates last for 1 month from application. I am expecting that my car will be delivered by 15 May 2018.

So my DS just scheduled a date of June 14 as delivery. They said that it might move ahead. This is for a Feb 14 order in Tampa S75D. The car is not even in production yet.Is this normal or happens to everyone?

I need to check with my DS. Last I heard about two weeks ago was that for mine (Feb 24th order - Nashville 75D), production was scheduled for late April with a mid-May delivery.

Looking at the Order and Delivery google doc, it looks like they are still hitting the overseas deliveries with production this week. Maybe North American delivery production will start to ramp up more next week?

From what I see on the spreadsheet over the past year, it looks like production would start about a month after VIN assignment. So, I would think you may see production on yours (with a 3/17 VIN assignment) start next week (or maybe the week of the 24th at the latest)? Hopefully?

I noticed that my VIN was assigned on April 1, although I might have been a day or two earlier. I’ve heard nothing from my new DS. I was reassigned to Fremont at my request so I can tour the factory. The original DS in Cathedral City told me on March 13 my car was tentatively scheduled for production the week of May 7. That is close to your estimate of 4-5 weeks. I was told that someone would contact me as “we approach the beginning of May...” at which time the timing of delivery as well as payment options would be discussed.

Hope this helps.

It’s interesting that they’ll schedule so far out for a car that doesn’t even exist yet! I’ve never found the car dealer’s crystal ball to be very accurate before, but then again my cars used to come from Germany and the logistics involved many more third parties, like ships, Panama Canal crossings, etc. I ponder whether dealers are doing this to help deal with the new big uptick in deliveries that are resulting from the Model 3 ramp up.
