Wiki Model S Delivery Update

We moved the delivery date up to this week, and I'll be picking up at factory on Friday morning YEAH!

From start to finish the order/build process took 8 week, just as they told me it would at the start - which is fine with me. It would have been nice to get it in two weeks, but then I may have lost out on some of the upgrades :)

It's a little disappointing to see the level of frustration some people are having with the process.

To-date, I'm very happy with the responsiveness of all the Tesla staff and the level of information they provide. Over the years I've had bad experiences ordering from other car companies, last one was Mercedes who strung me along for almost 6 months on a build. Working with Tesla has been night and day.

I'm super impressed that Tesla shares as much as they do. In a way it can hurts them, at least in this community, as we're all able to crowd source the data and figure out more than the average Joe who orders. If I hadn't been given a VIN or known about the spreadsheet I'd been oblivious to out of order production :)

And I'm sure the DS job is not an easy one trying to juggle demanding customers, but they have a process and we have to respect it. Crying that you're paying a premium and deserve better service is not fair. We have to remember everyone in the queue deserves the same level of service and crying louder doesn't make one more important. Reviewing historical data in the spreadsheet is a good way to guess how long your key dates will land - at least it worked for me.

So, I'm stoked that I'll be getting my car on Friday - right on schedule!

Per my DS today my car is still scheduled to go into production next week and delivered in Buena Park around the 10th-20th. However, it can change by next week (could be sooner). At this point. I am just impatient as hell, but the reality, another week does not really make much of a difference for me. :D just want my car fast!

Man, how do you guys get a week out of your DS? Mine only gives me vague 2 week windows for production start.

Sorry for my crappy pics, it's way too hot out today, I just grabbed a few quickly.
I totally see how that could happen, being competely absorbed by the car. Tried AP, it is a very novel experience.
Being new to Tesla, i love that hood line i can see from the driver's seat. And it is awesome how this car hugs turns!

Update to this--

Yesterday I confirmed with my DS, since I never received an email, that my Tesla did indeed enter production on Saturday (05/21). Today my estimated delivery date changed from Late-May/June to June 1, 2016 - June 15, 2016. Given the average production time that I'm seeing from other posters (3-4 days), I'm guessing my Model S will finish production today or tomorrow. Fingers crossed for truck delivery!
Update to my update:

Checked this morning and found that my Model S had finished production and is was in transit. Emailed and called my delivery specialist to figure out whether it was on train or truck but I couldn't get him. Decided to go into my local showroom after work and asked one of the other delivery specialists to check (my DS was doing a delivery at the time) and they said it's at the rail station waiting to depart. They also said that it would take between 10-14 days to ship to the "East Coast Hub" and 1-2 days to come to the showroom. Two weeks!

Same boat. Pittsburgh.

Is this an iPhone connector in the center console? something you added, or did Tesla add that for you?

Who did your tint?

I have gone to Signature Glass Tinting in Costa Mesa, CA for years now. This is my 4th car I've had tinted by them. They always do an exceptional job and have a lifetime guarantee.

They also offer free tint removal if you get a Fix It Ticket; and if you pay an additional $25 at the time of install, they will also re-apply the tint after the fix it ticket is cleared.

They are awesome!
