Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Just picked mine up today! Delivery specialist basically said hi and handed me off to someone else, which seemed weird, but overall she's gorgeous. I also thought I would have cooled seats but it doesn't... Black next gen leather for me. Quite a few with the black paint and grey rims in the lotView attachment 207113
Who is gorgeous? Your DS? The someone else? Or your new Tesla? :p

FYI for anyone with recent orders worried about the model year. I placed my order 12/7, confirmed 12/15, 2016 model year VIN issued 12/18, VIN replaced with 2017 model year 12/21.

Also, when I placed the order estimated delivery was late March, it's now late January/February so fingers crossed...

Interesting..... I confirmed my order 11/26/16 and told them to hold production till first week of January 2017 so I can get a "2017 model year" but the vin has not been updated to reflection this.

Picked the car up yesterday. Car looks beautiful, came with a few superficial issues which they fixed during delivery no problem.

A bit heart broken about two things:
  • Steering is MUCH less sensitive than the pre-refresh cars (Sport feels like pre-refresh Comfort mode)
  • 75D throttle response is ever so slightly more sluggish than my pre-fresh 70D (my theory is due to the increased battery weight the car is now exactly 5.2s 0-6 where as the 70D could do it in 5.0 under optimal conditions)
The two things above make a world of difference when driving the car, so I guess I'll have to just get used to them.

The fit and finish along with quality and look of the car and components is greatly improved as I got EAP and PUP with all dark interior. Big difference from my gray next gens and no PUP in the 70D.

Curious to hear others thoughts about the steering issue for those that are upgrading from pre-refresh cars!

I've been lurking for a few weeks. It's been fascinating and puzzling to see the differences in the level of communication folks have had. I understand variations from DS to DS, but not regarding email and dashboard updates.

Ordered/Confirmed S90D: 11/26
Production Started: 12/19
Delivery Window to San Rafael, CA: 12/24-1/7

I have received no emails from Tesla regarding VIN, production, or delivery and only have had information show up in my dashboard. My DS initiated contact at the very beginning to introduce himself, but every other time I have sent him a message. The latest email, from last night, said that the car was in the inspection stage and should get to San Rafael "soon".

We've never had a car like this (EV or super expensive), so I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the things to keep track of (charging percentages, range mode, pre-heating, etc.) and the choices to make (mainly the protective coatings).

It's incredibly exciting, as we've had solar power since 2002 and I've been wanting to get an EV for a long time, but others didn't make sense for us and we weren't able to afford a Tesla until now.

MS 60 (Red) delivered 12/21/2016, three days ahead of promised in Seattle. They beat the charger outlet, which is getting installed right now! Paint and finish were marred in two places, but the service center took care of them while I waited at delivery and seemed to do a pretty good job. The finish looks better than a lot of samples I've seen; no signs of bad detailing at the factory so far.

Ordered 11/5; Confirmed 11/12.

Delivery was a pretty good experience, and I'm not seeing any problems other than the usual UX misfeatures that we all hope will get addressed soon. The latest interim SW version with auto headlights and basic cruise was installed, fortunately; I hear a lot of cars are still waiting even for that. It appears that I have proximity sensors in the front end and not much else; no proximity sensing on sides or back whatsoever.

I was happy that the car appeared in the mobile app the next morning!

Ordered: 11/15
Confirmed: 11/16
Production started: 12/4
Production finished: 12/5 (!!)
Left factory: 12/15 (!!) ("Your tesla is on its way")
Delivery appointment: 12/27

Seems like a very long time between finishing production and taking delivery. Of course, that's assuming the emails are accurate (which they very well might not be).

Like a lot of people here I'm 50% miffed and 50% excited; I'm miffed folks who ordered after me have already taken delivery but also very excited for them too.

I've seen ultra white seats and all-glass roofs get delivered, so I don't think that's the delay. Can't really figure out why. Maybe a QA issue that prevented it from immediately leaving the factory after production? Anyway, patience is a virtue.

Does anyone know when the ventilated seats came to the non-P versions? I really wanted that and I'm hoping for them (I got the premium upgrades package) but trying not to get my hopes up. But they'd be so nice in hot GA summers!

took delivery today. Car is awesome. been raining here a lot so did not drive much but spending a lot of time in the garage sitting in the car :) . the all glass roof is very pretty and the my combination Silver with all black interior looks very sporty!

Delivery process was meh. my DS (/who i have been in contact with) was not present, very bored looking tesla person going over the controls and rushing us out. SWAG: one cup, pin, umbrella. No key fob covers--said will be mailed--lets see :)

on the key cover: any one has recommendation which ones to buy from amazon? i want to put the tesla fob with my other keys..

Amazon.com: Topfit Silicone Car Key Chain for the Tesla Model S (Gray): Automotive
above looks promising based on my cursory search

If you are taking delivery of a 90D you got them, if you're taking delivery of a 60/75 you missed them by a few weeks.

Checking mytesla once an hour for status updates, I just want it to be here for Christmas!

Order submitted: 11/22
Order confirmed: 11/28
Current status: in production queue

Its a long shot but one can pray, the recent push and my OC local should help!

Went from in production last friday 12/16 to Finished 12/19 To pick up date 12/23.

Sales rep told me there was basically no way I would get it before Christmas, thank you Elon for picking up the pace!

Hopefully no pesky QA issues **fingers crossed**

Model S 60D, Black, all glass roof, AP 2.0, no FSD, black next-gen seats. Me, @PatrickB, @JRMW, and @Holmes are all nearly identical Tesla brothers/sisters with similar builds and pick up times within days of each other. 18 hours from now I'll be taking delivery. Can't wait!!
@Peppers I should have ordered black as well! So mine will be the blue one in the photo. Black and blue!

My P100D was delivered today. I had my enclosed transport deliver it from the Orlando facility. We just received permitting for the service center in Jacksonville, Fl. but they haven't trained the staff for deliveries yet.

Car looks good but I've yet to go over it fully. Installed the carbon steering wheel. XPel wrapped the Matte Carbon so now it's gloss. Also installed a carbon slider door and flip door in the center console. Had the tint done and added lowering links and Vossen 21" VPS-305T in Satin Black. I'll post a couple photos of the newly added wheels tomorrow.

XPel over the entire front end tomorrow or Saturday and wrapping all the chrome in satin black

Cant wait to see it! I've been in excruciating pain with mine ... sooo much salt on Minnesota roads :'(

Definitely a bummer that we have to deal with these winters. I'm going to have to deal with an inch or two of snow on my first ride home after I get it tomorrow at 2. Oh well, at least we can now heat our cars in our garage in the morning!
I was worried about the heating in the car, among other things; but so far every day i get into my car, i grin and say to myself, "OMFG THIS IS AWESOME!" :) Is it spring yet?
