I was upgraded on Oct. 22 to Sig #1360. The guy I spoke with said that it was last spot left. Still waiting for delivery date and VIN. It remains to be seen if it will be VIN #1000.

Marian - I heard about your story from the Tesla store rep today. Congrats and let us all know when you get your delivery window and VIN please!

Sorry - meant to say Martian!

Well, got to spend the weekend with my Sig Performance, which was delivered Saturday at 3:00 PM. Some of the details:

Pearl White Sig Performance
Tan Interior
Carbon Trim
Grey 21" Wheels
Body Color Roof
Delivered 10/27/12

Our delivery specialist, Matthew, was amazing. He was extremely patient while explaining the ins and outs of the car to us and was extremely thorough; the whole process took about 2.5 hours. He helped us hook up our homelink and adjust all of the settings to our liking as well. He was very upbeat and enthusiastic despite working 7 days a week! He really went above and beyond his call of duty.

The car was missing the rear parcel shelf and also the rear spoiler, which I was a bit surprised by. The passenger front door doesn't close terribly well either, which we will ask the service center to adjust when we get our spoiler installed. It also does NOT have the cubby under the touch screen, which I was a bit disappointed by. One of our first trips with the car was to go out and buy a small box where we can store our change & charge cards. Lack of interior storage is definitely one of our minor gripes, as we're so used to having some spaces for certain items we keep in the car, it has taken some getting used to dealing with less cubbys. With that said, however, we both like the open area in the center console, we just wish there was another cubby or two, or may"Ratebe a few more cupholders.

The driving experience is nothing short of incredible. I still can't get over how smooth the car is, regarding both the motor and the ride. The power and torque are very addicting! I was nervous about dealing with the touch screen, thinking it would be a bit cumbersome having to navigate menus for all of the controls, but it is actually very well thought out and I haven't really had any issues with using it to control everything. The stereo is fantastic and we really love the entire Tesla/EV experience.

With a standard mode charge, our "Rated" range is 241 miles, although our projected consistently falls pretty far short of that, usually by around 60 miles with conservative driving. This makes us a bit nervous for our planned trip to AZ (from LA) with the car in November, but that's a discussion for another thread that I'll be making shortly. We never worry for our daily driving, but we are definitely suffering pre-roadtrip range anxiety, though, especially since there are no superchargers (and none planned!!!) for the 10 heading east. We're hoping as we adapt to the car and as the batteries are put through a few cycles that our projected range will improve.

Overall, it has been a fantastic first weekend with the car and we couldn't be happier with Tesla. The car really is a dream come true, and if we can find solutions for our relatively minor gripes (mostly regarding long distance travel), then it really will be the perfect car.

So it appears that I'm going to get a month of enjoyment of my Model S before the Zombie Apocalypse predicted by the Mayans arrives, I was told this morning my car has entered body-in-white stage.

I am traveling to Arizona from NorCal late in December so am most interested in your upcoming trip. My current plan is to spend the night in Blythe at the KOA to get a full Range Charge for the drive to PHX. Then, because Tucson is my destination, stop by the Tesla store in Scottsdale to pick up about 60 miles for the drive down.
