I thought of that, but I can see in the reflection of the car in front of me that it's the headlights. Also, the green headlight icon is lit on the dash. Further discussion should probably go to the "Technical / Mechanical Issues" thread.

huh? you mean there are other threads besides this one? you mean I will never get off this site? I thought I got away and they keep pulling me back...

R129 (VIN 1391) was delivered today at the Fremont factory. The tour was great, and the car looks fabulous. Panel fit and alignment and so on are very good. I have a few minor niggles but nothing to go on about here.

It's going to take some practice to learn to park this bad boy!

Mike, I missed this last night - so good - and GREAT color choice - know that was difficult for you, and perfect it appears. You helped many of us find our color (and other) choices along the way this past summer (that was like decades ago in Tesla Time, don't you all feel?)
Enjoy and Awesome.

ModelS1079, I hate it when your posts aren't snarky. Maybe we need a new forum topic :(

I stopped by Larry's house at 5.00pm this afternoon and they were just finishing up...he had the longest handover everrr! I think he was trying to make sure he got the prize for the last U.S. Sig delivery. (Actually, he had a zillion questions was playing with the v4.0 firmware update and had actually taken his DS out to lunch. Larry's a nice guy!)

Thanks Nigel for holding down the fort.

Sorry for the delay in reporting my delivery. Performance Signature 1232, VIN 1055 was delivered on December 6th at 11:00 AM in beautiful sunny Sarasota. 44 miles on the odometer, temperature 81 degrees.

Ben arrived right on time.

It's true we spent a bit of time with Ben, but it was both business and social since Ben was a friend before he was a Tesla Delivery Experience Specialist. We were hoping to make it an evening of relaxation, but Ben had to handle a number of pressing delivery issues.

Im P524 and JUST got my VIN. 1799, anyone know how long it takes to get delivered after getting the VIN for the P's?
My time from VIN notification to factory delivery was 9 days. However, I received my VIN # only after two e-mail inquiries so the VIN might have existed and been assigned to me days before I heard about it. So, I believe at least a week and a half. I am impressed with the Tesla personnel, their conscientiousness and their energy, but their workload is considerable.

Well, I have a 6-30 installed currently (done before the options and pricing so just assumed they'd copy the Roadster adapters) so may end up re-wiring to a 14-30 (panel can't take more than 30A - old house) but don't think that adapter is available yet so curious what my options are.
Car comes with 14-50P. If you have HPWC on your order, tell your DS ahead of time if you're getting a 6-50R installed and they'll have an adapter ready for you at delivery. My DS didn't; grumble. If you contact your nearest Tesla Service Center, they'll mail you a 6-50P. I did and they did. It arrived 2 business days after I got my 14-50R installed.

I ended up having the 14-50R installed because the 6-50P didn't arrive in time and I wanted a 14-50R anyway. I'm having a separate circuit run for the HPWC and leaving the 14-50R there as a courtesy for visitors and perhaps a Model X (descendent) in a few years.

40A @ 240V is reporting 20+ mi./hr. charging, which is more than plenty for my normal consumption. I'm getting the HPWC anyway. :)

I've been keeping up with all the deliveries here (in this thread) since Day One, but stopped once the floodgates opened a couple weeks ago. I came here this morning to see how things are going and am happy to see that the last of the Sigs are being delivered. Looking at timdorr's spreadsheet, it appears that the last Sig will be delivered tomorrow:

Jason Kelly vin 1039....looks like Dec. 9
(he's S1125)

... however that post is from about two weeks ago, and from a user who doesn't post much here. So he might very well have taken his delivery already. And of course the TMC user base here is just a subset.

But all that said, it looks to me like the last of the Sigs have now been delivered, or are getting delivered this weekend.

1588 has landed in McKinney, Texas

Next on Richards delivery list:

San Antontio (whomever you are, answer your phone ...)
Layfayette LA
Loudon TN

I got no VINS, but they all had 21" wheels and at least one was a Perf.

More pictures later of mine on my thread.

Nooooooooo! I'd thought that I'd be the first S in Louisiana! Darn that 85kwh priority! LOL! Whoever you are, hope that you enjoy it as much as I plan to.

Congratulations Larry & Mary Ellen! - She got her color :) The car is stunning. Hopefully in a couple weeks, Ben will be arriving at our door! It will be so much fun to get all the local owners together with the S's - SOON. Steve & Robin.

Timely VINs

From the customers' POV, one of the most common needs/problems is the slowness of communicating VINs. Financing and insurance etc. is all dependent on having it, yet many don't get theirs till the delivery is under weigh!! This seems to reflect a big procedural gap. The VIN is stamped on the body in white even in advance of painting. What is lacking is recording in the order DB, so that the customer can be immediately notified and get on with things.

Making VIN communication timely would ease a lot of frustrations, it seems to me.

Absolutely agree. I wish they would do a much better job with this. It would make dealing with the ambiguity of the delivery date much more workable

Well, I used to be P859. Now I'm finally the proud owner of VIN 01827 Performance, 85kw, 21" wheels, pearl white, black leather upholstery, obache flat, every other bell and whistle except rear-facing seats.
Now they just need to get in on a truck and ship it to Austin. Yaaaay!
