My car is still missing. Supposed to be delivery appointment here tomorrow morning.

For those worried about the car status on the account page. Don't be. My Status still showed "In Transit" as I walked through the showroom doors and saw my car sitting in the delivery bay.

My DS said near the end of the quarter they delivery about 150+ cars for each DS. So those status updates I am sure are going to be few and far between.

I picked my car up today. What a fantastic machine! I drove it 170 miles and enjoyed nearly every one of them. No regrets here!

What's the battery size on yours if you don't mind me asking? Thank you

I’ll admit that the Tesla page is sometimes discouraging with it being unclear exactly where the car is all the time. Having said that, at least there’s some kind of generic status. When I bought my BMW and had it special ordered, I didn’t know anything. Just, “I’ll be here in 4-8 weeks.” So this is better.

I’m waiting on my S75D, which apparently stopped in the hub in LA instead of coming straight to San Diego (not sure how smart my car is if it made THAT decision), so I get it Sat instead of today.

My DS has been amazing with communication and, when I asked him if I had the new MCU, he said, “wait... let me check... yes, you do.”

Not sure why he can do a few keyboard clicks and know while others are claiming they can’t tell.

I think it would be great if Tesla would provide deeper knowledge of order status (with notifications, perhaps) via the Tesla app - or create a new app just for that purpose. They're selling to a tech crowd, after all...

It's an even more excruciating process to receive a car from another country - but I understand that Mercedes and other brands are leveraging (pre-existing) technology to create a new experience where photos are shot of your car as it passes through assembly, and placed in a portal for you to view.

My DS called finally, my car left the factory on March 1st. he banged on his keyboard for a couple minutes and told me I have a MCU1.

He assures me that the new MCU is no big deal it is for Infotainment only. It will not control anything else in the car. Should I believe him?

They can't find my car, so it looks like my delivery appointment is now OFF for tomorrow morning unless they call back. One DS told me it was in the Alabama hub, and the other one told me it has been sitting in Richmond Va. for the last two weeks. Remember they moved my delivery up three days, now I won't even make the original date.

Feel like i'm dealing with a real car dealership at this point. NADA HQ is just around the corner.

I work in the gaming industry, and we use JIRA + plugins and a custom workflow configuration that alerts people whenever a task/issue changes states.
This is something that Tesla could leverage to make the process of building a car a lot more transparent and efficient - it's completely autonomous and requires little to no oversight.

If it's true that the DS has to manually change the status update of an order, then i'm seriously baffled as to why they would choose to go make the process so archaic with many potential points of failure

I picked up in Palm Springs center.

I do have the MCU2 and I have to say it is incredible. The browser actually is pleasant to use and the maps render quicker than my phone. My car is still on 2018.10.2 though so more to come. i suppose

I picked up my car this morning, one day earlier. Total wait time since placing order is 37 DAYS! Not bad at all.
I inspected the car inside and outside, it is flawless, not a single scratch. Now the only thing that bothers me is that Texas requires the front plate, damn it, it really hurts the beauty.
Also I just found out I can use the App to control the AC remotely, what a nice feature for people in Texas! Now, my wife gets jealous, before knowing that feature, she thought her Jaguar is way better.

I inspected the car inside and outside, it is flawless, not a single scratch. Now the only thing that bothers me is that Texas requires the front plate, damn it, it really hurts the beauty.
Also I just found out I can use the App to control the AC remotely, what a nice feature for people in Texas! Now, my wife gets jealous, before knowing that feature, she thought her Jaguar is way better.

I think God is punishing me, because i could not push it at all due to the rain.
The car is amazing like others said.
There delivery center was packed with people all picking up cars.

I had the tech confirm twice that i had the new MCU.
The Delivery Specialist had to call the Tech and he confirmed it adamantly.
He said he even watched my car go though the two firmware updates the new MCU went.

The MCU is FAST, maps load up fairly quickly.
I was able to go on the forums with the browser, although i don't think i will use much of it.
I cant wait til the rain stops, so i can push her.

Anyhow i'll take more pics later when the sun is out... but these are all that i could take of her right now.

I will say that is a damn good looking car. I saw a whole truck load of them at the dealer when I was there. It is way better looking in person than looking at it on the computer. excellent combination.

Congratulations! Our dates in the process were either the same or no more than 1 day off until now. My delivery won’t happen until next Thursday unless it arrives early.

Picked my 75D up today. Very pleased I have the vanity lights and new MCU2. It is significantly faster than the extended loaner I had, not just maps, but going through all screens is instant etc.

I put a reservation in for a model 3 today now too. If I’m reading correctly I should get invited to configure it within a week.

I had my delivery appointment today and it was a great experience. I thoroughly inspected the car and it was near perfect. The only thing we found was the glove box would not open, but 5 minutes with the service tech solved the issue. I have MCU2, 2018.10.2. They swapped the twin turbines with traditional turbines as we agreed since I placed the order on 1/12 before the introduction of the twin turbines and I don’t really care for the twins. Went straight from the SC to the OptiCoat Pro Plus installer. Initial impressions of the car are very positive. Some similarities to the Mercedes B-Class Electric Drive I have had since 2014, but this is a whole other level - a REAL Tesla. I will miss the HOV stickers for a while, but I think I will even like driving the S in commute traffic without HOV. In one word, AWESOME!
