That’s interesting. I’m with State Farm too and mine is more than double that. Clean record and same liability limits. $2,000 deductible, multicar discount and I have two homes on my policy. I wonder if agents are able to add a little sumptin’ sumptin’ for themselves. I may have to shop after this puppy arrives.
How much is your insurance on your current vehicle? Do you have 37 years of driving experience?

I cannot find where it automatically pushes back the seats/steering wheel for entry and exit.
For this, it's a Driver Profile called "Easy Entry". Look for that either in the profile screen or in settings. When it's selected as the current profile, make your adjustments and click save.

Great review! Definitely sounds like a Tesla review with delivery experience being crap but the car being everything you wanted. I will say though that "only two panel gaps" is still a cause for concern to me. There shouldn't be any at this price point.

The Tesla vulnerabilities behind these are closed although social engineering and VIN cloning are always a concern. There is also the risk of using VIN and registration info to dox someone. Some folks might care about this, but others might not.

VIN cloning sounds like the most applicable situation here. So, if someone has recently stolen a 2014 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION GSR then they now have the perfect VIN number to use thanks to @Ramphex sharing his information. However, you would face that same risk every time your car is parked in a public location.

But much easier to comb the Internet for that info than to drive around the country looking for one

So this is the last time my 85D will be in my driveway cause it was sold. My marketing went way too well and had a full ask offer that I had to take. Why would I sell it before my Plaid arrives, well, that's cause Tesla told me back in June that if I converted my + to Plaid I would take delivery in June along with my EDD of June 21-27.
Needless to say since then my EDD has been blank, so now Im without a car.
1st time in my 34 yrs I'm left without a car.
Now I have to drive my wife's boring Model X. (no offense to any MX owners)

Perhaps he just got off his meds and he's little cuckoo's right now? o_O 🤪 Don't know, don't care but again, if I gave you a thumbs-down on every single post you did, you would be like "dude, wtf?" 🤔 Never met any of you folks in person but based on what I've seen here, I would be willing to meet 99.9% of any of you and I'm sure we would all get along just fine. Always a few bad apples in the bunch though.
That was what I was thinking before your post. Let's set a date, say 3 months out where we members of this thread can meet. Obviously not in the same place, but regionally. And rejoice. Just a thought. But for those in the Charlotte NC area, let me know and I will organize.

I’m 60, so what’s that? 44 years? Never an accident. Maybe a ticket once a decade. Clean record now.

I’m one of those guys that made the mistake of selling his current MS back late February, so I can’t recall what I paid. Wouldn’t matter, I just had liability coverage (250/500/100). I won’t be going without full coverage on my new MS ( LR/Plaid, whichever comes first) but didn’t find it worthwhile the last few years once I went over 100,000 miles. I do remember taking full coverage off saved $2400 a year tho. My agent said my insane miles were what was killing me. I will be looking for other companies that don’t focus on that as much as State Farm.

My 2017 Mercedes SL450 is about $800 for six months, but it’s listed as my second car and my phantom Tesla is still listed as my primary with the premium suspended.

Yeah but then you have to have StateFarm. That company sucks.

If you want to stay on topic, just go to the last line.

I had StateFarm for 22 years. It was what my family used, so it carried over to my adult life. I never needed them for anything, so I just kept paying them. Then I had a malfunction with my breaks and ended up coasting into something (light pole). I was recently divorced, and did not know my ex had us on full coverage. A few weeks later, when I went to cancel the policy (car was totaled), I found out about the full coverage. They would not honor the claim unless I had an exact date. After arguing for a few minutes I gave them an exact date. I was then called a liar, since I already said I did not remember the date. A couple years later, I was engaged to be married. I sent my fiancé to my agent's office to pay the quarterly bill, and while she was there, he tried to convince her to reconsider marriage, because I am a liar. I got him fired for that one.

Then I bought my first house. A violent wind storm blew down my entire fence line. Since the house was not purchased new, and I had no receipt for a fence, they prorated the fence based on the age of the house, and cut me a check for about $80 to replace about 60 feet of 5 foot high wooden fence.

I am a very forgiving person, so I still kept paying them. Then years later, while driving to Albuquerque one night, I hit something in the road going about 80. Whatever it was, it punctured my front tire, rear wheel well, and broke the front axel on the passenger side. I did not want to make a claim, so I spent $1200 of my own money for a tire, new wheel well assembly, and the replacement of the right front axel. While pulling out of the dealership, the axel snapped again. This is when I realized my transmission was damaged. I called StateFarm, explained I initially replaced everything on my own, and had receipts to show timeline, including the tow truck cost. Since the object I hit did not strike the body, they said there was no proof of an accident (called me a liar again), and refused to honor the claim on my full coverage policy.

That was the last straw. I switched to USAA. Cheaper rates, and every time I had a claim, they went above and beyond. That same first house, I had water leaking into the front window during a storm. I called USAA. StateFarm gave me $80 for a fence. USAA looked at the water leak, went up and inspected the roof. They discovered the roof was missing flashing above that window. They cut me a check on the spot for about $22,000 to replace the entire roof, repair sheet rock damage on the inside of the window, and repaint the entire ceiling and wall. They also informed me the check was an estimate, and whatever the contractor ends up costing, they will cover the difference as well. every interaction I have had with USAA has been amazing.

I've had several other claims with USAA since. I always feel like they are protecting me rather than trying to find a way out if honoring coverage. If StateFarm offered me rates at 1/3 of USAA, I would still refuse.

Oh, I'm still blank.
Yeah, I had State Farm decades ago and they’re great as long as you never need to actually use your insurance. Then they suck.

Well I finally got my LR delivered yesterday. I want to give an honest review. Not a Tesla fanboy here, and this is the first Tesla I have owned. So those who are in the same position can gleam an honest review here. I really wanted to take the time to do this as a thank you to all the people on this forum who shared their knowledge over the last 9 months and have truly been a "support group". I couldn't have made it through without you!

Delivery -
After waiting a hellacious 9 months as a "pre-refresh" order (Oct 2020), and given the run around by Tesla numerous times I quickly learned how this company operated. I'm in a service oriented business, and I know If I ever treated my clients this way, I would not have a business. But I listened to those on this forum that said the car was worth the wait and to ignore the hijinks of the company. So I stayed put. After forking out $4500 for 21's to get my car sooner, I did receive it about 10 days later. Tesla was actually able to deliver 1 day early so that was a plus. However on the day of my delivery they texted me and said that the delivery guy was going to drop off my car and go over everything with me, and give me a tutorial. I said great, and that I also wanted to inspect the car before accepting full delivery and they said no problem. So as my delivery timeframe shrunk and only having a half hour left, I went outside my house and took a look on the street. Three houses down my car was sitting on the street and with nobody in sight. They actually didn't deliver to my address and didn't even let me know my car was there. Literally nothing. No text, no call and I had no idea how long it had been sitting there and I had been waiting around. Furthermore no instructions on how to get in. I went to the app and I had been connected. However the car screen wouldn't wake. I finally meandered to my website account and saw the button to accept delivery. It would have been nice if someone would have told me what to do so I wasn't flying blind for about 45 minutes. So as far as I am concerned, Tesla gets an "F" on delivery and customer service. This isn't a package being dropped off to the wrong house by Amazon, and do what you say you are going to do.

Car Itself -
So this is where the review turns more positive. The car does look beautiful in person. It wasn't hard to let the delivery experience melt away once I sat in the car. I've driven the 2020 Model S and this definitely feels about 5 notches above that. Material quality looks good. Seats are comfortable and it "feels" more like a luxury car more than anything I have ever seen from Tesla. I love the tweed on the door panel and the alcantara throughout. Also the car is extremely quiet. You feel like you are encapsulated. I'm not sure if ANC is working or not, but no issues with sound thus far.

Yoke -
I wasn't one of the ones who was afraid of the yoke or disappointed by it. I was looking forward to it. For me it is super fun to drive. It allows for comfortable hand positions which were already normal for me (9 and 3). I drove an uphill winding road in LA and around the famous curves of Mulholland Drive. Although very odd to see a rectangle on your right or left side when making a hairpin turn, I was still easily able to control the car. One tip, if you think you can let the yoke slide back into position without going through your hands like a regular round wheel, it's not really safe. Use your other hand and hold it from the bottom and help guide it back into position. Negatives - The turns signals require constant visuals because the buttons are so touch sensitive you cannot rest your finger on the notch to find them without setting them off. They really should have put the left signal on the left side, and the right signal on the right side and it would have been much easier to navigate without having to visually engage each time. Biggest mistake in my opinion. Next mistake, not putting the horn on the bottom-center of the wheel. When you go to hold your hand over the complete right area to honk, my windshield wipers turned on with water and messed up my clean windows. So you literally have to look at where the horn button is to not accidentally engage wipers/fluid going off when you honk. Unfortunately neither the signals or the horn situation is going to physically change so it looks like we are stuck with this. Also the airbag cap has the "scar" like other deliveries. Clearly a manufacturing issue, and yes it bugs me. Lastly the yoke is not heating up to a very warm temperature consistent with other heated steering wheels I have used in the past. This will be something sent in to be looked at.

Acceleration -
Why anyone would need faster than this car beyond track racing, is beyond me. It's FAST. It's NIMBLE. It's EXHILARATING. And I haven't even done a launch yet. Two final words. "Meep Meep".

Electronics -
The driver screen is great. I turned on the FSD visualizations and it is very cool and futuristic. The green light "chime" is one of my favorite things ever. At stoplights you will inevitably turn to the center screen out of boredom and that chime lets you know the light has turned green. (FSD only.) The center screen and new UI is way more user friendly, although there are some bugs. My screen has not woken several times and I have needed to do full resets, but I believe it is because I tried to engage sentry mode and it is not working. I cannot connect my phone key on my Android phone, and one of the fobs does not connect. (Hopefully the phone key issue can be repaired). Also I cannot connect to my Youtube account. I cannot find where it automatically pushes back the seats/steering wheel for entry and exit. And lastly I was really looking forward to the tilt screen when they announced the refresh and still sorely miss it. The bottom right of the screen is hidden behind the yoke, and I have to look around it to see when the music player is minimized to that corner. I'm hoping the rumors are true and one day that will be activated, but not holding my breath. All that being said, I can see the potential greatness there once UI 11 is complete.

Build Quality -
I was pleasantly surprised in this area. With all the discussion on panel gaps I only found two gap areas that need attention. On the exterior rear door towards the top molding and on the front hood. They are not the end of the world, but should be corrected. The interior rear door panels that are misaligned are consistent with other deliveries. Everything else looked pretty darn good. The paint looked good and no areas I have noticed yet that looked poorly done or swirly. No noises or rattles. So all in all, this was less problematic than I expected. I do wish Tesla would automate the frunk though. Come on guys. Nobody wants to put both hands on the hood of your car and press down with fingerprints. Step it up for $100k.

So the final analysis from two days of ownership. The car itself gets an "A-". Tesla delivery, customer service and experience gets an "F".

I think many of us have that same feeling. Perhaps competition around the corner will force this company into treating it's customers better. Only time will tell. But in the meantime, I'm stepping on my ePedal and leaving that experience in the dust.
Thank you for taking time to articulate the experience. Greatly appreciated. Hope the SC makes up for the screw up on Delivery by fixing the open issues faster than average. Enjoy the car..

I guess the only other variable is location. Suburban Orange County for me. That and I drive less than 10,000mi per year.

I sold my Model 3 Perf yesterday. A friend wanted to buy it for his son as he knew I was waiting for my Plaid.

Thing is my order was converted from a + to Plaid mid June like the rest of us. So delivery could be September as with any new order mid June (even though it says delivery is July). My friend crazily insisted and is paying for a rental until my plaid appears. Probably 2 months of rental fees. Crazy.

Sure. And thanks to the VIN decoders we can pretty much compile a list of VINs for every make model year color etc, and then add a couple of random numbers at the end (“the last 3”). But in reality let’s face it, you can just scratch the VIN off if you need to commit some sort of crime, no reason to have a “fake” one.
