Model Y has anyone received 2023 VIN yet?

Existing Inventory in Toronto area shows New 2022 MYLR for all colors are available don't know how do they decide to give some people 2023 VIN and some people they are giving 2023 VINs

Does anyone know how the SA decides which client gets which year Model?
Have no info, but logical would be: older orders (lower priced, can't cancel) get 2022 newer (increased price, can cancel) get 2023?

Have had my VIN for a few days now, PF58. The app says to complete all tasks but we’ve already done everything available, even paid in full, and they keep pushing the EDD back by a day, with the first day always being THE CURRENT DATE…yet no contact to schedule delivery. We bought online so no SA. what am I missing?? Seattle area

I don't think the SA make that choice or decision. Because for existing inventory the Customer order the one they want so whichever one the customer click on the tesla.com website that's the one they get.

But in terms on brand new order. I believe there is a few factors.

1) When was the order placed
2) When does your spec out car goes into production
3) Once Tesla Motors get approval from the Regulation they can go ahead and start making the next year model

To sum it up I personally believe that it is really base on timing when the Customer placed the order and when Tesla makes your car and delivery it to you.

Any intel on when the MY EPA approval may occur? Also, any way to see if our cars that have a VIN has shipped yet w/ out talking to a SA (as I dont have a SA)...Thanks!

I believe the EPA approval is approved already. It just Tesla might not have release information on the detail of the approved EPA.

For my I kept in touch with the first SA that help me purchasing my Model 3 so when I order my Model Y I consulted with him too.
But without that I never got to talk to another SA even if I tried (Calling Tesla) until literally 4 days before I could schedule my delivery date to pick up the car.

I heard about this too. Eventually they got the car. I asked what the reason was and they said the Delivery Specialist said the car didn't past their "delivery standards" to clear the car for delivery to the customer.

So I'm guessing something is not right and they need time to make it right before giving you the brand new car!

You can check the EPA's website and see that they haven't released the certificate of conformity for 2023 Model Y (all trim levels) and the 2023 Model S Plaid.

I'm very familiar with this. It is approved and they are not require to post the updated EPA information the next minute. However it is mandate they post that information by the end of the quarter.

I wasn't trying to be inflammatory - just helpful if you didn't know!

If it was approved, why would Tesla not be delivering all the 2023 Model Ys? Many of us are about to take delivery but they keep pushing it back by a couple days saying they are waiting for approval? (I'm open to all theories haha - just want to take delivery of the car!)

Tesla literally falls over itself making sure deliveries happen.. you're out of town for 2 days? Too bad - we will give your car to someone else.
So why in this case, would they just be "holding" Model Y's and moving the date 1 day out each day for people looking to take delivery?

In this same query you are showing, I did my own too, you will not find the Tesla SEMI. That tells you that the information displayed is not realtime since we know that Teslarati showed that the Tesla SEMI was indeed approved.

Absolutely! I don't think it's real time - but couple that information with the fact that Tesla is holding some deliveries of Model Y means there is some approval they are missing.

Looks like cert documents for heavy duty vehicles may not be in the document index system. Perhaps Semi is classified as a heavy duty but not 100% sure on that.

Oh no no I'm not offended in any ways. You are good :D

I don't know if this is true but I do remember reading a post on Twitter that. The customer can request the document to be signed electrically and accept delivery remotely. And the post did mention that he told the Delivery Specialist that they authorized their parents to pickup the car on his behalf since they have the same last name and address on their ID?

Now I don't know how truth is that since is Twitter lol but didn't Tesla did something similar during COVID? They drove the car to the destination you wanted and left the paperwork in the car for you to sign?

I'm in Seattle as well and waiting on the call to schedule pickup. My EDD is currently Oct 25 - Nov 1. I got the trade-in, financing, proof of insurance completed 2 days ago. MYLR, 7-seater.
