Everyone like me that got EAP and FSD are just helping Tesla out until they validate the features. Tesla should subsidize our software purchase because we're helping them. They seem to think its the other way around...

I get my car on Friday. ~0 expectations it will even have the latest FW with auto wipers, blind side warnings, etc. I'll get it on wifi ASAP and hope that update comes through. No way Elon's magic 8.1 3 week update comes despite Dec 23 delivery.... Also I've been reading that 8.1 will not bring parity for AP2 to AP1 but it will narrow the current chasm. We'll all find out (soon).

My delivery specialist yesterday who was going over the features of the car kept saying the car doesn't have auto headlights yet. I thought that updated with the latest update. So the car I am picking up in the service center isn't updated to the latest version? That seems a bit ridiculous.

If you have the lock (not the headlight) symbol in your upper left corner (shortcuts) then yours it updated.

Just about 48 hours out from my delivery appointment. Based on what I've read here and my experience thus far in dealing with the people at the local Decatur Georgia showroom my expectations are fairly low.

I'll do my best to document the delivery experience.

I'm curious about Decatur too. I notice these stores have personalities

Buckhead store was very nice with test drives and educating the customer but they had a not too bad attitude which was well - Buckhead like. They are more geared to the rich, progressive young rock star or retired doctor. Frugal shopper like me got many confused looks.

Avalon store has been extremely nice to me but they don't have time for my crap. They bend over backwards to sell but they seem always very busy.

Marrietta, well there's a layman's Tesla store. They speak poor man's Tesla. Realistic people who have not disappointed me but also extremely busy it seems. Their service department was impressive regarding non-customer treatment: I walked in there first. They took the time out to get me what I needed and to the correct place and person.

These three stores are close knit. If you call any of them, the right person calls you back before you disconnect the first call. They communicate well IMHO. I'm wondering if this is pre-sales treatment or will this last. Hence my interest in what owners have to say about their experiences. I have never been to the Decatur store.

I didnt realize there was an Avalon store. We could've gone to Buckhead or Decatur since both are about the same distance from Athens. Decatur had the first available test drive appointment. That was the only factor in doing business with the store versus Buckhead. The experience was okay but nothing spectacular.

Over Thanksgiving we visited my parents for a week in Walnut Creek California. We decided to go to the show room there one afternoon just for fun. The team there was absolutely awsome. They spent over an hour talking to us about everything Tesla. The manager of one other employee actually owned Teslas so they were total enthusiast. When we finally left and we looked at each other and said we wish we were buying our car at that store.

My car was delivered Sunday, didn't have it then and still doesn't.

Waiting.... waiting....

The car is incredible and will more than make up for the kids "delivering" them. I got my car back today after 3 days at the SC for a rattle, alignment and mirror issue. They gave me a brand new Cadillac as a loaner and it felt like such a piece of C&@$ compared to my MS. Grinned all the way home today after I got Silver Dream back!!!

Please do not misunderstand my next statement because I'm one of the cult members who is totally in love right now...

Are we being realistic or are we so high on Tesla we don't care that there are so many quality related issues with new cars?

I'm expecting to take delivery in a few days and I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'm thinking I'm going to look at everything, listen to, smell and maybe even feel and taste that car when it shows up ...

Finally got my MS!!! Man do I love it. I did get free all weather mats for their errors. But what a great car.

I am willing to live with the flaws as I understand this is still very much so a early stage car company, doing something that hasn't happened in a century. There will be hiccups as they push technology. I'd rather have this than a legacy company take 10 years to implement tech. Trust me, once you've lived with Sync by microsoft in a ford, this is like a millennium beyond. Will post pics in the AM! Still looking for north jersey tint recs if anyone has.

What tint are you thinking about?

The Walnut Creek staff is great. The pre-sale support was first rate and I've kept in touch with our OA post-sale as well. Too bad they don't do deliveries there.

In general, staff who actually own Teslas are invaluable because they can really relate to other owners concerns and questions. I had a great conversation with a technician at Dublin who was telling me about his transfer from Ohio and bringing his CPO S60 cross country.

Personally, I have no anxiety about picking up my car and do not really care how versed my delivery specialist is. I haven't heard a single story that ended with "and they wouldn't fix it!!!" and I've spent the last month living and breathing the forums, subreddit, and you tube videos so unless my Delivery Specialist has been too, then they no doubt will be less up-to-date than me. Picking up on Saturday and can't wait to apply my knowledge and install my Tesla's new accessories.

I had LUMAR now called Suntech Air 80 on my last car's windshield and 40 all around. It was lighter than most but too dark for me. I prefer tint to be just dark enough to mask facial details but light enough for you to see the seams in the seats from outside. It has a classy look. This time I am going 50 all over the car with 70 on the front. I'M more concerned with heat rejection now.

The lumar...reduced the heat in the car a lot but that was 6 years ago. Today Crystalline is impressive with heat rejection and it's a 3M product. Suntech CXP dealer told me it's a POC and I lost respect for him. In my research it is the best at slowing down the heat build up thus conserving power to cool the car. I hardly ever park my cars in the sun.

Researching photosynth today.

Let me know costs for your complete job. I notice when shopping, I say 4 door sedan and the price is $x. I say Tesla and price is $x+200.

Yeah I was in the same boat, kept my expectations low and wasn't surprised unfortunately.

Got a quote for Madico Wincos today for $399. Need to shop more for the other brands and research more.

SO was scheduled to take delivery of my MS on 12/17/16 @ 5pm - 45 minutes later I am told there is a scratch on the bumper and I will not be taking delivery today - but they will fix it and I can take delivery the following day. I am given a 2013 MS60 as a loaner. Fremont DS calls at 9am and says car will be ready at 4pm on 12/18/16. I go at 4pm have to re-sign the paper work I signed on 12/17. I am taken to my car where everything looks ok there are some spots of glue in the trunk that they fixed and then I start to ask a few questions I had about the car - I knew more about the car than the DS that was assigned - at that point I just want to leave and drive my car. So I snap a pic and I leave. If you are expecting fanfare or special treatment when you pick up your car DON'T. But I am glad I have the car. Unfortunately I already have some issues. Driver assistance not working warning keeps popping up, the left hand button on the steering wheel is not working properly (sticking) and the navigation is not working correctly intermittently - did a restart still not working correctly. Will be calling Tech Support and making a service appointment ASAP. This is the only place I could vent. Thanks for listening. The only way to keep your sanity is to think of this as an investment in the future of electric cars - which I knew going into it. But still a bit dissapointing. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them reply here or send me a pvt message.

You're right about little fan-fare, however it's 100% because they're in the end of quarter madness. The last time I did delivery they made a much bigger deal about it and it was a great experience. Yesterday during delivery they rushed me through. I heard them say they had 26 deliveries to make the following day, so they're completely slammed.
