Finally some progress on the transformer portion of the job. Apparently, much of the trenching has to be done by hand, to avoid disturbing the roots of Sycamore trees. Today, they installed three underground vaults, so the pace may be picking up.

Given the holidaze, I’d think 2nd week of January is safe.

However as noted above, they’re burning overtime so that would imply getting done in the next 2 weeks.

The logistics of getting presumably SCE and then Tesla to do their parts is the collective wild card.

Still and all, this will be a nice add in that area.

The Super Chargers are almost ready. Friday they were finishing some wiring. Should be open soon, all 24 stalls.

Thanks, @Iwasfuzz! Did you have a chance to see whether a big green utility transformer was sitting atop one of those concrete vaults? Were white supercharger cabinets already in place? This looks like an installation where the charging bollards for individual stalls went in early in the process. It's certainly rolling along!

Taken yesterday. The construction company had no idea when it will be done and open. Upon completion, Edison has to come sign off on it which I was told could take weeks.

I haven't seen a big green utility transformer and the 12 supercharger cabinets are off to the side of the project and still in their wooden crates, so I think we are still a ways off.

Wrappers are back on, many of them green and with bows. The “Tesla only” signs are not up, so spots are all ICEed. There’s also construction off to the side still.

I just looked. It looks like they’re just about to power them up. Wrappers are on, but construction appears to be complete.

I just wanted to add that I did not examine in detail because the parking lot was packed. It does appear that the signs are missing, and I did see some kind of fencing at the corner. But it wasn’t around the superchargers so it might not be related. Maybe that’s where the transformer goes? A portion of the superchargers were blocked off from normal traffic.

Stopped by this afternoon on the way to see Cavalia. Still significant construction going on. Almost all spots ICE’d, but as one should expect at this point as the lot was extremely busy, the stalls are not activated, nor is there any signage up yet (though the signage posts are in).

I’ve been out of town for more than weeks. Even with holiday interruptions, I thought I’d see more progress. Today, they are pulling wires to each SC but, as you can see, there is much left to accomplish.

Stopped by 5-d ago and a crew of 7 workers were pulling wires and were happy to talk to a Tesla enthusiast. They are "almost done" with this site, The delay in placing the Utility Transformer was due to needing an easement for placement at the corner of the property near the FWY off ramp. This SC "should be all operational by the end of the month" I was told.

One unsuspecting Tesla driver plugged in (not drawing power) as the wires to that bollard had not yet been pulled (see my pic, which prompted me to stop, get out & interrogate the construction crew).

I confirmed that many Caruso properties will feature Tesla Superchargers with DEDICATED TESLA PARKING, if ICE'd they will tow. I was there as a Caruso exec informed the contractor to install signage on all SC spots stating so, not the 1/2 dedicated & 1/2 prefered signage called for in the plans.
