Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I'm getting really annoyed that people with no reservation and the same model are getting delivery appointments while I have nothing so far. I paid my reservation the day it was announced, and ordered the week it was available for order, so why the hell did I give Tesla my money for 3 years? Makes it even worse that I've been told repeatedly by Tesla, from multiple people in the company; that I will get my car in August. That my early reservation will mean I will get it before people with no reservation. Well that's all bullshit. They've been lying right to my face for 3 years now.

Tesla may have a great product, but they have some of the worst customer service on the planet. Makes it really hard to recommend it to other people.

I am in the same boat, no contact at all, no vin and yet I keep seeing others with the same configuration and no reservation getting appointments and cars. It is bloody frustrating, even more so due to the lack of communication, even a general update on their website as to what is going on would be helpful. I did contact them to say I was willing to pickup from wherever would lead to the earliest delivery to avoid it clashing with a long time out of the country. I was told that the delivery specialist would liasise with me over this and I should get a call soon (beginning of August) due to my early reservation...... nothing. I emailed them last week ask what will happen to my order since I now won’t be able to take possession until early November....... nothing back. Some on here have suggested that by making these queries TESLA may have moved me to the back of the que out of petulance... I hope that is not the case. The only possible advantage I could gain from allowing TESLA to bank my money 3 years ago was the fact it may lead to some priority in delivery.... sadly not. Multiple people at my work own EV’s and are looking in the $150k range at Jaguar, Audi etc, my ongoing journey is not helping to sway them to TESLA.

I get the feeling (blindly optimistic) that even though our VIN shows on Vedaprimes list as being on the next boat that somehow it arrived on yesterdays. Just seems like too much of a coincidence that it would show up the day after a ship arriving. Also based on what you are saying about CarJam would point to a stronger case of it arriving yesterday rather than still being half way across the Pacific on the next boat.
Im sure Vedaprime is cringing reading this cause I am basing this all on absolutely nothing but its nice to dream right?!

No cringe. Let’s wait for the invoice. It will prove it. If white seats were brought forward other batches could have too. I’m trying to stick to evidence based answers, without much speculation.

I have seen a general tendency to hidden vins being found earlier before they get to NZ, which wasn’t the case for the first ships to AU.

This lines up better with Europe where vins are assigned after 2 Weeks leaving the US.

I agree. I am still really looking forward to taking delivery but the way the reservations and deliveries are being handled is definitely tarnishing the experience. Colleagues and friends keep asking me where my car is and all I can say is I don’t know.

Unfortunately it is making it difficult to recommend Tesla to family and friends irrespective of how good the product is.

C'mon this is Straya! The golden girt land of nepotism!

Employees first!
Friends and family second!
First day register's third/fourth! } Hard to pick between these two
Mate's slipping a case of beer third/fourth! } in case too obvious and lose job.
Media/celebrities/politicians and third party bribes fifth!
Simon Hackett sixth!
Existing Tesla customers seventh!
Slightly slower register's eighth!
Orderer's in order ninth!

Just imho! ;)

Reorder required:

Employees first!
Friend and family second!
Mate's slipping beer third!
Simon Hackett fourth!
Media/celebrities/bribes fifth!
Colleague asking 'do this one first' sixth!
Naggers seventh!

------> look a SQUIRREL!

Tesla employee home time .. rinse and repeat ..

Great thanks for all of the updates.
I do plan to get a model y in a few years and so would that affect what I should set up now in regards to circuit size? I read in the HPWC manual that you can "gang" several together but is that what you would do? Or would you just install the 2nd hpwc on its own circuit?

It sort of depends on available capacity, I'm not an electrician but I understand that most houses with single phase only have 80-100A of "capacity" in the switchboard, as that's how much will be coming through one phase into the house, with three phase, you effectively triple that.

You can go ahead and set up a new 48A circuit (3 phase 16A) per HPWC, or you can set up two HPWC on one circuit - and then they will somehow intelligently load share, so if one car is charging and the other one isn't, then the car that's charging will get full power.

I'm able to log in no problems. It just shows me a pic of my car and links to watch the tutorial videos
I can log in and get the same tutorial videos and the little treasure chest on top right corner taking to my referral link.
Thanks - I guess it's just me then?

I see the cars on the website login, but get an error for the app that says "Sign-in Failed there are no products linked to your Tesla account". Hoepfully they can fix it on delivery day.
I used to get that message when I was only on reservation but had not put the order in. Once I upgraded my reservation to order and received the email with the order attached, a few hours later I could log into the app.

Feeling a bit lonely here with a LR AWD ordered. It seems hardly anyone ordered this configuration, there's been no change to my account since 13th of August (obviously vinless), and no hint about when it might arrive. Would love to hear any speculation on when I might get the car from anyone who might know.

Just spotted these being delivered to Sydney (Alexandria). Interesting that some have the aero covers on, others have them off.

Sadly, none of them are mine. I'm waiting on a MSM P+. Reserved: 05/04/2016, Ordered: 04/06/2019. Still VINless.

I have LR AWD in white also. On the spreadsheet it shows that theres an NZ one with VIN and delivery date but i have neither yet.

The ANL WARRNAMBOOL was the answer @Vedaprime mentioned before so hopefully thats right and we will get a call soon when it docks in SYD.

Does anyone have any updates on pearl white SR+ deliveries for Melbourne?
I noticed other people are getting delivery dates for SR+ who didn’t even have a reservation.
I placed my reservation in May(I know it’s not as early as others). However, my car is still VINless and no updates on anything?
I made a call to inquire and was told Tesla would reach out in July and the latest delivery would be mid September.... still haven’t heard anything yet.

Just had my phone call.

P3D+ Blue/black
Pick up 27th of September

@Random206 @Vedaprime I’ll send the VIN details when I have them
Glad you have a date, but if you get your car (exactly the same as mine) before me I am going to be so annoyed with Tesla. Deposit on the 18th May, 2018 and order on 1st June! More than 2 years later than my deposit, and after my original order (which admittedly Tesla stuffed up, leading me to replace on the 2nd June, they promised that it would not affect my delivery). I have had absolutely nothing from them since finalising the finance/trade in etc.

Great thanks for all of the updates.

That is up to you. You can daisy chain the units together and they will prioritise charging according to some sort of algorithm. Would likely save you some money as well as room in your board, which might be important if you are running short of space. If the Model Y also has an 11kW charger then you could likely run both chargers (set to maximum 11kW using the config dial in the unit) on the same circuit without cooperative charging.
