Serious question. I now have the ability to buy a brand new 90D or 2x CPO s85.
Any recommendation? The new tesla will have the 7500 tax credit so almost 2x cpo at the current price.
You can only drive one car at a time. Buy the new one.

I drive a classic CPO model S but reading about the drive unit failures in some of the older cars does make me nervous.

Do some more searching/reading on TMC. Most of the early DU failures weren't failures at all. They were plenty of prophylactic DU replacements, but not actual failures. After a while, Tesla found the problem and started fixing the DUs instead of replacing them. I think Elon had a few tweets about this. I can only think of a handful of reported actual DU failures reported on TMC.

7/13 Messaged my DS (the day before he estimated the car would arrive in NY). I got an auto-response saying he was out of the office till 7/18.

7/14 Messaged the dealership e-mail (as per the auto response) and CC'ed my DS and got no response from either.

7/15 Called the dealership and got constant ringing but no answer. (called 30 mins before closing hours)

7/16 Left a message to confirm the car has arrived as per the estimated arrival. Left my name, number and what I was looking for - no response)

7/17 (Today) I'm slightly annoyed at the last few days considering my delivery window on MyTesla page states " Your estimated delivery window is Late June - July." If they're giving the clarity of stating Late June...why not also say Late July.....The month is already more have half over...

It's been a rough time recently with life stuff......and not having communication from Tesla doesn't help.

I ordered a car weeks ago. Barely a peep from them. Last I heard the car might be at my local service center last Tuesday, but haven't heard anything since.

You need to relax, it's not like they are hiding info from you on purpose. You are in your delivery window, they will contact you when it's ready. My window is July/Early August. It'll come when it comes.

I think Fiver is, unfortunately, right about delivery. They seem perpetually optimistic from what I've read here and getting it "early" or even "on time" appears to be the exception rather than the rule (especially at the end of a quarter). Other stuff seems to come into play too (like which service center is prepping your car, how busy they are in general, etc.).

I have similar communication experience with Tesla service center in Atlanta. When they want me to sign an electronic form or they required payments for transportation of the vehicle, I receive a call from them multiple times. When, I want to learn some information no response from any of my emails. I asked to see the pictures of the vehicle or the inspection report and it has been over 2 weeks and i have not heard from them at all. I just decided to leave them alone and hopefully they will deliver me an almost perfect vehicle so i will not make a big deal.

I also got the NEMA 14-50 installed over the weekend. Do you guys know if I should ask the city for an inspection? I got it installed by a local electrical company instead of the Tesla recommended one since it was half the price. I do not know if the inspection is a must or not. Tesla recommended company told me they had to pull permits but the local company did not do anything like that. Any advises?

^ the best thing to do is probably call the city inspections department and ask. I used the Tesla recommended installer, and he pulled the permit for me since my city required it, but I later realized it can be done online very easily. The electrician charged me something like $120 for the permitting, but the permit cost around $80, so they definitely charged a premium for doing something I could have done in about 5 minutes had I investigated myself.

I just want to give a shoutout to Brent Seavey (CPO Advisor- Midwest). He is been excellent to work with through the whole process. Definitely recommend him if anyone is looking for a CPO vehicle.

I was told last week that Justin Bordbalash is no longer with Tesla. You may not want to wait too long for his Email response:)

Muhammad Abdelaal is the CPO specialist out of Buena Park, responsible for CPO sales in So. CA. He helped me with my transaction 3 weeks ago but I had the most success using Hanks tool to determine historical pricing for my target vehicle and then working with an experienced sales specialist (not a CPO specialist) to look for cars that aren't yet listed on the CPO site. Connor O'Neil was awesome to work with out of Buena Park.

Also, I highly recommend taking delivery in Fremont if possible and taking the factory tour. Awesome. We used the $750 we would have spent on shipping the car to So. CA on a mini vacation and drove the car home. Lots of fun:)

Thanks for the update. Guess it's time to contact the CPO specialist again. I went to my local SC and they told me they don't have access to the CPO list other than what is published on the website. I guess some are more wiling to work with you than others.
