Have a VIN allocation - but can’t read it as the car is through a leasing firm. Told delivery first week of December, so ship arriving end of November.
I ordered a M3 LR in standard spec on 11/10/21. Can’t check the VIN so can’t give clarity on digit 8, but suspect it will be a ‘B’.

Following that, a helpful Tesla CS gave me my VIN:
LRW3F7EB1MC******
So, a B motor setup (non-Chinese motors), and possibly/likely a 77kWh battery.

I have B on my VIN too, found 26th October.
I am not worried too much about a few miles of range, but am more worried about future resale value if in the future people avoid 2021 cars with B VIN? I dont know...guess we will find out when they arrive...
I wouldn't class the battery as a 'subtle upgradable item like an iPhone battery'. To me its more like getting a more efficient 2l turbo which does 40mpg rather than 35mpg and CO2 of 120 rather than 150. makes a difference I think...
Has anyone else noticed on the account page dashboard it now says 2021 Tesla Model 3 whereas before it said just Tesla Model 3!!

Oh that’s the latest order I’ve seen with a vin. How do you know you have a vin? Text message or something?

You may well have a cancellation order, eg someone’s cancelled and you’re the lucky recipient.

Noticed the 2021 Model 3 thing too, yep.

Has the range changed?

I had an email from my leasing agent telling me my car was on the way, then I asked my local Tesla sales agent for the VIN. He did caution me that it could change as they sometimes shuffle cars to optimise deliveries, but acknowledged that was unlikely.

As mine is leased, the resale is of no concern, but as it looks like Q4 UK cars are all 77 LG batteries, I wouldn’t worry.

So I got a text of my allocated CS at Tesla yesterday afternoon. He said my M3LR (Black ext, white int, aeros) [ordered via ALD - company car] was well on the way but no dates available at present. He was able to give me my provisional Reg plate and further went on to say my assigned delivery specialist would be in contact with ALD directly.

Received my RN on the 12th October - given that a provisional reg has been assigned should I assumed that a car has been allocated a VIN now?
