Might've missed this but is Ferrybridge expanding?
There's news on the TOUK Facebook Group that Ferrybridge Services are being expanded too - at least 6 new chargers.
Should be - see post above.Might've missed this but is Ferrybridge expanding?
Don't get too excited about this layout - I've seen plenty of people with charge ports on the opposite side of a Tesla complain that even with the V4 chargers the cable doesn't reach comfortably to the other side, so they just take the cable from the closest stall to their charge port - you then still end up with a sub-optimal mix of people using the stalls on either side of the bays - it works so much better when the stall is in the centre of the bay, so everyone knows which stall they are supposed to use.
Fair point, but either way it requires a bit of diligence on the part of the non-Tesla driver to understand that they should be using the stall on the left-hand side (from a tail-in position, or right-hand side from a nose-in position), which is not immediately obvious unless they pay close attention to the overall site layout rather than just picking the closest stall. That only because they tail (like Tesla’s usually do) in rather than nose in. If they went nose in, they’d use the ‘correct’ stall.
A Tesla can also go nose in with this layout and also take from the ‘wrong side’, the cable will reach if you drive far enough into the space, e.g. front wheels up to the curb.
I don’t disagree but it is what it is.Fair point, but either way it requires a bit of diligence on the part of the non-Tesla driver to understand that they should be using the stall on the left-hand side (from a tail-in position, or right-hand side from a nose-in position), which is not immediately obvious unless they pay close attention to the overall site layout rather than just picking the closest stall.
Not all sites will be able to nose in due to obstacles at the back of the bay but many V4’s I’ve seen are fine. The tip to nose-in a Tesla though may prove useful in some cases: V4s still offer some hope!
I’ve seen many Tesla driver leave their cars in sub-optimal ways also.Though there's still plenty of opportunity for stall blocking, if people leave their cars in suboptimal ways.
I have a sixth sense, that you really want a mugUpdate on Junction 1 Retail Park! The lines are drawn, the construction containers have been removed, the road has been tarmaced (mostly) and reopened… but the superchargers are still gated behind construction fencing. Should open any day now! Watch this space.
I've seen some photos now that show Ferrybridge is definitely being worked on...Should be - see post above.
Thankfully just looks to be connectivity issues....also Newark has disappeared from the map in the app - hope it's not cable cutters again!
Yep, I noticed that too.Thankfully just looks to be connectivity issues.
Meanwhile, M62 Birch East has finally switched on! May this bode well for all the other Manchester area sites waiting to be switched on.
I have read that TOUK present a mug to the first person to post a picture of themselves charging on a new site.Mug seekers?
If you are a member of the official Tesla Owners UK group, you can win a Tesla owners U.K. mug for being the first to charge at a brand new supercharger or significant expansion.Mug seekers?
Is there any more news on when Gretna will go live? They switched off the V2 stalls on 5th February - clearly something has gone wrong with the project management!
No news. The tesla tech I spoke to a few weeks ago reported that there were earthing issues with the groundworks (after construction) requiring major reworking. Is there any more news on when Gretna will go live?
I have only used it, because I have built up a lot money that octopus doesn’t want to refund me. No discount.Has anyone used an EVPoint / EV On the Move Supercharger yet? Is there any way to get the Electroverse discount rather than Tesla billing at full price?
