New X has I think 2,500 miles on it by now. Long trip yesterday - About 8 highway auto-steer hours - lots of long straight stretches on nice roads. Car was constantly hunting (oscillating) for a perfectly-centered track and making ultra slight adjustments left to right to left - enough that...
posted this in for sale forum accidentally but now putting it in right forum
Debating about buying a 60D New before they discontinue them mid April.
But also very open to a used one (better value) if I can find something in the next week with these criteria:
Must haves
AutoPilot 1 (or AP2!)...
Hey,
I have a HW2 Model S and noticed that with AutoPilot engaged in stop and go traffic it frequently puts it on "Hold" when I'm doing something on my phone or have my head down while stopped. It doesn't do that when I'm looking straight ahead at the road...
This leads me to believe Tesla...
Hey everyone,
Ever since receiving the first update enabling AutoSteer functionality on my HW2 Model S I've been unable to engage AutoPilot over 50kmh on any highway here in Warsaw, Poland. The release notes clearly state highway speed up to 130kmh.
It's been about 6 weeks and 3 updates now...
Tired of being bugged to put your hands on the wheel?
Feel redundant steering a car that's already doing it?
Is the incessant beeping disturbing your sleep?
Try this hand weight attachment. It will fool your 5K pounds of moving mayhem and let you enjoy the full benefits of autopilot, and more...
Unfortunately I have to sell my Model S 60.
It has to be a lease-takeover
We put $11,202.44 down and are looking to retrieve that back.
Car was delivered December 15, 2016 so it has AP2.
It has 15k miles/year
Battery upgradable to 75 battery
Pearl white paint
Pano roof
21" grey turbine...
I just traded in my MX 90D last Friday for an MX P100D.
Is it normal that I can't use AP2 over 50km/h? And when I can engage it, it's worse than a drunk driver. The car keeps trying to run me off the road or worse yet, onto the wrong side of the road.
I miss AP1 :(. I realized I used it all...
I just thought of something today; as AP2 matures and the car becomes more aware of obstacles around it, do you think the FWD will benefit from this? We randomly encounter situations where it doesn't quite read the environment right, but if it's boosted by the data that AP2 provides, is there...
Hey,
I've been testing Autopilot (in it's limited form) since receiving the 17.7.2 update yesterday morning. I'm curious to know if any of you on HW2 have noticed improved Autopilot performance after driving the same road multiple times (especially on local roads)? Perhaps successfully taking a...
I am part of a study in MIT that allows them to put a few cameras in my Model S to take data on the Autopilot system. For your part you earn $1,000 for the year. I am MORE than happy to tell you all I know about the program. Great people and they are working hard to make autonomous driving a...
I'm driving AP1 Tesla and one thing i have noticed is that rear camera gets dirty very fast. I'm surprised, that Tesla didn't equip AP2 cameras with washers.
Okay, old hat to AP1 owners, but for a new AP2 owner, I finally got a feel for, and appreciation of, Auto Steer today...
Given I have not traveled on any roads where doing less than 50 MPH without causing a major accident, I've only been able to use TACC up to now. I have had far too many...
Hi folks,
Just wanted to share an experience with TACC on AP2 car on 17.5.28. I've just started using it on my daily commute on a fairly slow (40mph) but well travelled road with lots of traffic, TACC has been quite good at keeping pace, stop and go, and detecting lane changing cars in front of...
A car tried to merge into me and make an illegal left turn. The driver did not see me (most likely due to the blind spot). Tesla, as part of firmware 17.5.28, added side collision warnings, but there was no alert.
I'm not even mad at the driver that tried to merge into me. People make mistakes...
I just sent the following note to Tesla, but wanted to alert others to some of the problems we have experienced with AP2...
We have 17.3.2 and have used AutoSteer extensively on a number of interstate highways since its initial release. Primitive would be an understatement. Here's what we have...
As a new user of TACC, I must say that I'm not impressed. It may be OK for light traffic on a highway, but for heavier Bay Area freeway driving or on city streets, it will, at the least, take some getting used to. Here's why:
1. I'm used to backing off the throttle or starting to brake when I...
I had the opportunity to experience the new "hold" feature on my ap1 S while waiting at an exceptionally long light, and it got me thinking: considering the mobile eye cameras can recognize stop signs and I believe the color red, along with gps data, perhaps the new hold feature will be used...
Officer: What do you mean? You were going 35 in a 25 mile zone.
Driver: I set my Tesla with the latest cruise control update to go the speed limit. I set the car in the 35 MPH zone.
Officer: Yes, but when you entered the 25 MPH zone, your car didn't slow down.
Driver: Oh. Sorry about that...
"Autopilot for HW2 rolling out to all HW2 cars today. Please be cautious. Some cars will require adjustment of camera pitch angle by service."
Elon Musk on Twitter
I have a 41 mile commute (one way) over a ton of blind hills (where I lose sight until driving over the crest) and sharp curves in western Pennsylvania that I use autopilot HW1 for 90% of the drive. I have been recording my drive with each update and noticed improvements here and there. The car...
Hello all,
This is my first post here, my father and I just received our first Tesla about 3 days ago and my family and friends are absolutely obsessed with it. All of our milage so far has literally been driving to and from relatives and close friends to show off the car and amaze people.
Im...
Hi, I'm new here. I assume many of you also frequent /r/teslamotors and this post may be redundant. But I thought I'd share with everyone anyway.
I recently got my S (12/13) and dropped it off at Exotic Vehicle Wraps in Dulles, Virginia the following morning. They applied xPel Stealth to the...
I know I have seen a thread about this somewhere, but cannot seem to locate it.
On AP2.0 cars, has there been any mention of allowing drivers/owners to see/stream/record footage from any or all of the AP2.0 camera suite? I pick up my MX tomorrow, and looking at dash cams, it seems to silly to...
Forward:
I was expecting a lot from the car and have not been disappointed. I’ve been lusting after one since I saw an early prototype in Menlo Park.
What follows are stream of consciousness thoughts (in no particular order).
Pleasant surprises:
Automatic location-based garage door open and...
Interesting to see the dichotomy between AP1 owners who are upset with the latest software changes and AP2 owners who are eager to get the next update. Obviously there are many more AP1 owners but wanted to get some idea how folks were feeling.
A bunch AP2.0-cars out, but not yet any pictures of the AP2.0-ECU.
So please be the 1st person to post images of the OEM Tesla Vision (Autopilot) 2.0 ECU "supercomputer".
99.9 % sure it's mounted in dashboard, above glove box (passenger side). You'll need to remove outer panels + glove...
Just picked up my new model s with AP2 and not seeing anything under driver assistance beyond speed warning ?
Thought I would see some of the other features now. I know the features are slowly being rolled out but lane assist and adaptive cruise control I thought was there immediately ??
Do you guys think AP1 will get the auto lane change, auto exit and on ramp, and a better summon along side 2.0 before AP2 starts to pull away and take better advantage of the hardware or does everyone think that AP1 updates will be little fixes because the hardware has reached its full potential?
No one started the MX November delivery thread yet, so here it is....
Compared to the MX deliveries reported in September, TMC has been awfully quiet about US deliveries since then. I guess the line has been busy with all overseas production and hopefully we start seeing some US AP2 deliveries...
I was hoping to start a thread for people to share information about AP2 equipped vehicle deliveries.
I'll pitch in to start :)
My 75D order was:
Ordered: October 15th
Confirmed: October 23rd
VIN Assigned: October 23rd
Order Change for Enhanced Autopilot Confirmed: October 27th
Delivery...
When I took my Model X test drive, the overall experience was fantastic but trying the Autopilot features was the most memorable and pushed us over the cliff to confirm our order. Now with AP2 hardware rolling out and EAP software not being available at least until December (Tesla Time!), I am...
