After emailing one of my people at tesla, I Got an email on 8/31 saying my tesla went into production. Yesterday I got an email saying it was finished. I emailed my delivery specialist asking if i was going to get my pup early. She emailed me back within an hour and said i could get a delivery date of 9/30 or sooner if i wanted. She said to expect about 14-20 days for transit from CA to FL. My lease doesn't end until the end of Oct. I think i'm just going to eat the last lease payment.

Ask if they'll take the car back early and waive that payment. BMW is for me. I of course didn't tell them what I'm doing after the lease yet.

Was it that easy? I have an X5. Anything i should know going into that?

Its all negotiation. I hate to say "lie" but if they know you don't intend to go with BMW again they won't budge on much. I just said I hadn't made a decision. They asked for the car back early and offered to waive the last month. I also have lease end protection so am covered for excess wear and tear, and its my fourth BMW.

At the end of a lease, its depreciated inventory for them to turn to CPO quickly, just give them a hint that there is an opening.

I'll def try that. Thanks a ton

OH MY! Yesterday at 8:50pm, I received the "Your Tesla has entered production" and at 1:34PM today, I got an email from Tesla saying "Your Tesla is complete".
Called Alliant right away - my loan service person just left on vacation until 9/8! AARRRRGGGGHHHH.
I told them that I wanted to close as soon as possible, they wanted to wait until the car was closer to delivery! Need to get everyone on the same page!

Well... Here's what I've just learned... I got my "going in to production" late last night, but it actually went into production on Tuesday. I got my "Your Tesla is complete" at 1:45PM today. The good news, it is actually complete. Which means it now goes to final inspection, which Fremont says it can take one to two weeks. Further, they wi/ll not schedule me for pickup until it completes the final inspection. AND once the final inspection is complete, they will schedule the pickup, which is usually one week out! So basically my pickup could be anywhere from 9/14-9/21. I'm exhausted...

Just relax. When it's ready it's ready. There's nothing you can do to speed things up.
