I received a VIN assigned from Tesla yesterday morning, 15 minutes later they texted me and asked me to schedule the time to pick it up tomorrow. So in my case, they only gave me 48 hrs from VIN to pickup. I think because I am so close to the Fremont factory, so they can transit to my local Tesla showroom in a few hours.

I had to do that a week before you, haven’t heard back yet. For the initial trade in request it took literally an hour.

Thanks, that clears that up for me. And, I guess they assign build years differently now than when I bought my MX in December, 2016.

You'll be lucky if they give you the 2023 VIN.
Guys, just noticed they are just listing 18 demo vehicles on tesla website (AZ). I think they are getting rid of 2023 demo and bring in 2024 demo cars. My guess is 2024 is happening very very soon.
At least in my market, those have been posted in the available new inventory for a while.

I believe it's highly probable that they will provide us with a transfer, similar to what they did for the Q3 FSD. I suggest reaching out to your Sales Advisor and inquiring about this. I'm planning to contact my SA after my EDD changes to a date beyond the End of Year. Currently, my EDD is set between December 22 and February 16.
