Just speculation at this point. Considering that no one can actually place an order for a MYSR+ or whatever Tesla calls the shorter range AWD model, I doubt those will be the only models produced at Austin. The MYs produced so far may very well be MY-LR. We should hear very soon as to what is actually be produced.
Thats True.. but its also true that only one new tesla has passed EPA tesing and that is the SR. When the P & LR do pass its doesn't mean they will be produced this year but at least there would be a possibility. At this point there are No MYP or LR with 4680 that is able to be sold.

Ok I have looked everywhere for a video showing this but I cant find it. I thought I read that the Tesla would now give a total of 3 routes like Google and Iphone but I only get 1 route. Did i read that wrong, isit not for the 3 and Y or do I have to activate an option somewhere ?

Oh - I am on the latest update as well

Just a little history. For the 2021 MYs that got EPA certification;
- Tesla submitted their application ot the EPA for MY-P & MY-LR 9/27/2020 https://dis.epa.gov/otaqpub/display_file.jsp?docid=51237&flag=1
- EPA certification issued `10/9/20 https://dis.epa.gov/otaqpub/display_file.jsp?docid=51224&flag=1
- Tesla application for MY-SR (RWD) submitted 12/21/20 https://dis.epa.gov/otaqpub/display_file.jsp?docid=52088&flag=1
- EPA certification issued 1/8/21 https://dis.epa.gov/otaqpub/display_file.jsp?docid=52125&flag=1
There were no other applications nor certifications for 2021 model MYs. However during the 2021 model year Tesla starting using the rear mega-casting and also increased the capacity of the battery pack. Apparently such changes did not require the certification to be updated. Since Tesla already has EPA certification for the 2022 MY-P and MY-LR perhaps that is all they need. Also it seems to take 2 to 3 weeks for the EPA to post applications and certification docs to their web site so its possible something else from Tesla is already approved, but not yet posted by the EPA.

I wouldn't be surprised if the ver. 2.0 MY-LR and the upcoming lower range AWD model are the same vehicle except for the battery pack capacity and firmware load. If that is the case then it should be easy for Tesla to produce both versions from Austin. Of coruse everything is just speculation at this point as none of us have enough information to make any firm conclusions.

For the LR&P the batteries were bolt on . they were able to get more battery density into the same size packs. Nothing changed but the capacity of the battery so nothing structurally changed. With the 4680 the batteries are part of the structure if the car. Removing batteries would result in them having to fill that space with something which keeps the rigidity and it would have to be retested. Its possible that they are actually using bad/dummy batteries as fillers. Or they are actually FULL battery packs and you can buy extra range as a fee like the acceleration boost. Then I would agree the care swould not need to be retested but if the battery count is different they have no choice but to recertify.
