This is ridiculous. I’m sorry you had to waste your time. Tesla communication is getting worse by the minute.
That is so incredibly frustrating. Seriously dont know why they even had you drop the car off if they did nothing. I am noticing that service has been getting much worse in terms of communication, organization, customer service. Every time I bring my car in, they don’t wash the car, respond to text messages or calls (my service center doesn’t even pick up the phone), and also poor communication on what was actually done to fix something.

I wonder if you won't ever get an invite for the camera retrofit as when they ran a query of vehicles that need it your vehicle wasn't included since it already had the necessary cameras.
What an interesting and depressing thought. It might be true unfortunately.

I changed my front and repeater cameras around a year ago. Didn’t bother to change the pillar cams cause they aren’t used for Dashcam. Makes me wonder if I am now in limbo, and won’t ever get an invite…

Update for anyone interested:

I just updated my AP2 repeater cameras to the latest revision being installed during retrofits. No drama as expected. Plug and play and good to go. May have to power the car down and up to get it to recognize the new cams.

My next venture is the triple cam and pillar cams which require a software redeployment for them to take. I headed to the service center (service mode is geofenced) and redeployed the software myself to get ready for the install that I’ll be completing tomorrow. I was kinda shocked how easy it is to redeploy firmware for part installs. I’m much more hopeful of the future of repairing my own vehicle without a service center.

I will post an update once the other cameras have been changed as well. I won’t be opting back into the safety score just yet until there is a timeline for beta V10.8.1 or 10.9 or 11 or whatever as I value my sanity and I don’t see any more cars getting pushed 10.8.

Curious how do you redeploy firmware?

- Drive to service center
- Hold down Model in the software tab, enter “service”
- Click button that says “software reinstall” which gives the option for full or partial install
- Wait 5 minutes and clock to install shows up

Added some photos, bottom cut off to protect vin

Has anyone heard anything about new invites? Been a long time since they sent out the last ones. I feel like an idiot trying to maintain this stupid safety score.
Speaking of Safety Scores, has anyone had the Service Center ruin their Safety Score with their test drives after replacing cameras? Our car goes in Monday for the camera replacements. We're at a true 100 right now with all 100 days the last 30+ days. I really don't want the Service Center to ruin it, especially if we don't get our car back the same day.

While one user here did report that the SC drove until calibration completed, mine did not and the cameras calibrated on my way home. Maybe just ask them / request that they don't drive it beyond the parking lot (and tell them why)?

Service mode disables safety score, and also wouldn’t be too worried, I kept up a 100 with a majority of my days at 99 and 98. If you have all 100s the last 30 days then no matter what they do you should still be above 98 which is what is required for FSD. 97s have been getting beta.

My 100 safety score was reset when my cameras were replaced (Hi, Kafka!).

Completed my DIY retrofit today with mostly success but the pillar cams are giving some trouble. Triple cam installed flawlessly and no issues there. Pillar cams have been throwing errors since the first drive so decided to take a trip to the SC and pull the codes.

Looks like it doesn’t like the pillar cam type itself.

These pillars are #1092306-00-F and 1092306-00-F with camera module 1069401-00-D from a 2019 Long Range but retrofit may require 109230x-00-G revisions.

Funny thing is that the cameras completed calibration for Autopilot and it works really well, feels even better with the new camera suite. Summon calibration is stuck at 97% I assume because of the pillar error but for now at least I’m thankful I can use AP while troubleshooting further.

Trying another software reinstall but since it is reinstalling the same file, maybe I’ll need to wait for 44.30 to recognize the new pillars? Just interesting that the triple cam worked right away after software reinstall.

Any thoughts?

I don’t think so, I was actually decently far away from the building when accessing.
V11 broke Navigate on Autopilot for us… I posted about it here: V11 (2021.44.25.2) Broke Navigate on Autopilot

I tried to go into the Service menu to redeploy the firmware, but it wouldn’t open for me. Typing in “service” did nothing. I tried this both while out & trying to get it working & while parked at home. Tomorrow I may try driving by the Service Center to try it in their parking lot. “service” is typed all lowercase?

You definitely have to be in the vicinity of the SC to access it. I cannot access it at home or anywhere else. You should have no problem accessing within the geofence. All lowercase yes.

Your pillar cams are correct. 1069104-00-D matches exactly the PN retrofitted into my car and detected by the fw.
