The next big milestone for FSD is 11. It is a significant upgrade and fundamental changes to several parts of the FSD stack including totally new way to train the perception NN.

From AI day and Lex Fridman interview we have a good sense of what might be included.

- Object permanence both temporal and spatial
- Moving from “bag of points” to objects in NN
- Creating a 3D vector representation of the environment all in NN
- Planner optimization using NN / Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS)
- Change from processed images to “photon count” / raw image
- Change from single image perception to surround video
- Merging of city, highway and parking lot stacks a.k.a. Single Stack

Lex Fridman Interview of Elon. Starting with FSD related topics.

Here is a detailed explanation of Beta 11 in "layman's language" by James Douma, interview done after Lex Podcast.

Here is the AI Day explanation by in 4 parts.

Here is a useful blog post asking a few questions to Tesla about AI day. The useful part comes in comparison of Tesla's methods with Waymo and others (detailed papers linked).

Looks like it's about a 20% rollout right now. At least Chuck is on the ball with videos:

Yes, fortunate he was available today.

Chucks first impression doesn't look any better than the other v11.3.x releases. He was able to get one ULT without stopping in the roadway. The last ULT looked a little tight and sketchy to me but difficult to tell from a wide angle lens. Still over reacts to pedestrians walking parallel on sidewalks. As Chuck says - gotta wonder what big bug the team is trying to fix with these last 2 releases. Still poorly handling left turn lane entrances - enters the lane late and leaves rear end hanging over white line. Not much to praise here. Maybe things are as good as possible for now.

After watching the video I was reminded of the same braking issue I had yesterday when a pedestrian was walking towards the street. Braked fairly hard, was IMO overly cautious - surprised me and the guy behind me, whoops!
(Now queue the comments about how pedestrian safety is paramount and studies show the person was probably 1 second from certain death...."
(sorry, just flashing back to the comments I received on the following distance being too long  )

Chucks first impression doesn't look any better than the other v11.3.x releases. He was able to get one ULT without stopping in the roadway. The last ULT didn't look good as the oncoming car likely had to slow.
But better than 69, which we have been doing for months..

Yes @PACEMD .... that is a alley oop for you.
