LR RWD Waiting Room

So, just got my VIN & MVPA and it says the odometer has 50 miles. I know I'm being petty, but this is a 2019 313XXX VIN coming from Fremont to the PNW. Since it's a round number assuming it's standard to give them a cushion for testing, transport, etc. Anyone else seen this or have thoughts?

From what I'm told, the 50 miles is sort of a standard thing, and oftentimes the car actually arrives with fewer miles. The 50 is apparently intended to cover incidental transportation, testing, etc, but is not always fully used.

Ordered: 3/12/19 (although pretty late)
Config: LR RWD
Deep Blue / Black

Received a text on 3/18 with my VIN and that my delivery appointment was scheduled for 3/26/19. I also received a call from my delivery specialist yesterday to confirm. That will be exactly two weeks from initial order. Hoping that my VIN is a 2019. I'm going to call today to verify.

What the hell? Are they just not going to send cars to Canada at this point? I ordered your exact car on 2/28. Still not a word of a delivery.

I may just cancel at this point and buy a higher end gas car.

Well I guess I’m part of this wait group now. The mid range is indeed dead. They aren’t making anymore. Was given an option to get the long range for a grand more. White on white with 19 inch wheels. Hopefully the quoted 2 weeks holds now

This is a *sugar* show. The excitement of getting this vehicle is outweighing the distribution disaster Tesla is trying to manage. I understand these are growing pains, but their lack of transparency on how they fill orders and the unrealistic wait times they seem to be listing on their web site is ruining their image a bit. If they don't get a handle on this soon and improve their communication with their customers I'm not so sure I'll recommend their company in the future especially once competitors start start to catch up.

ordered march 17th 2019.

Received a txt the next morning on March 18th saying Your Model 3 delivery appointment has been tentatively scheduled for 3/20 at the Marina Del Rey Delivery Center.

Shocked how fast it was. A txt yesterday that the car will be delivered within 30 minute range of my appointment.

That's insane! Congratulations to you, but Tesla is starting to get on my nerves. I'm curious. Are you paying all cash or are you financing a portion of the purchase? Any trade in? I want to see if the payment terms affect the speed of delivery. I'm doing 75:25 bank loan to cash myself.

Wanted to provide an update.

Ordered: 2/28
Text: 3/19
Estimated delivery date: 3/25
Vin assigned: 3/20
Updated delivery date (when speaking with local delivery center): 3/23 (they said the car is set to arrive on 3/22 but I opted for the weekend pickup)

Currently finishing up financing.

In the end as other manufacturers catch up it will be a thorn in Tesla's side. They need to fifo their orders and not fling cars to the southern states first which gets those waiting further away upset.

If I were you guys I'd chill out. Based on this thread you're going on the experiences of like 5-10 people, whereas a production run of any given model is in the thousands. They're building 5-6k cars a week.

This isn't a "distribution disaster", it's Tesla finally ramping up to be able to fulfill delivery as soon as possible. Remember, it was just a few months ago that people were waiting MONTHS to get their cars. Now we're down to immediate deliveries for some models, but the LR RWD had been out of production since October. Now that the lineup is stable, once they catch up with the LR RWD, SR, and SR+, it's very reasonable to expect in the second half of the year they will be at the point that you can expect delivery within a week or less.

The disaster is not fulfilling orders first in first out which gets people mad. When you order a car 3 weeks ago and a someone in California orders that car 4 days ago and gets theirs this is an issue If you don't see that well... Go to a restaurant and order your food. Have a family walk in 25 min later order their food and have it served while your plate is empty. You will not be pleased

Do you know that people with your exact build are getting them first? Also, do you know what the logistics are for getting a car across the country and how congested that pipeline is currently? There's more to it than just person A ordered before person B. The exact configuration of the car vs. what they built at a given time matters. Getting cars across the country matters.

I'm not saying Tesla is perfect here, but on the grand scale of things a week delay for a delivery on the East Coast vs. a delivery in California is not unreasonable at all. And Tesla has recently started ramping up their car carrier truck infrastructure, but it takes time to bring online.

I was super anxious to get my car (and still am, I don't have it yet) but if you are seriously going to cancel your Tesla order and get a gas car because you had to wait a week longer than someone in California, did you really want the Tesla in the first place?

I initiated the order on 3/17 . Completed the credit application and submitted last night (3/19). Got a txt in the morning for delivery on 3/22. Saw the VIN in the tesla account.

I was not even prepared to get the delivery so soon. So i called to push it to 3/30 and they did that. Now i don't see a VIN on my account, i guess it got assigned to someone else.

Btw my config is LR RWD Black/black/AP/ Aero
