LR RWD Waiting Room

Ordered 5/26, solid black, black interior, 19'' sports. No FSD. No vin yet.

Why did you choose LR RWD: range or interior? I was going to go for the SR+, but I did not want maps without traffic. I currently have Android Auto, and get entertainment and maps and traffic. The premium interior is what attracted me more. The LR is a good add-on, but if they had given me the option of the SR+ with a monthly fee for premium maps, I would have taken it.

Ordered 5/26. Received vin and picking up on 6/13 in Burbank, CA. Looks like everything is going smoothly so far. (Pearl white with black interior and aero wheels).
This is good news and encouraging! Please let us know once you pick up your new model 3.

I went to my local Tesla store again today to inquire about my delivery date and home link. I was informed that I will receive my model 3 before July 1st (not sure how he knows this). He also stated that he sent an email to corporate yesterday to try to confirm that home link will be included as well. At my advisor's request, I ordered the LR/AWD on 5/30/19 and had it changed to LR/RWD on 5/31/19. Unfortunately, he has not received a reply regarding home link.

New to the forum and wanted to share! From reading old posts, sounds like I messed up on getting an older VIN.

5/18- Ordered a LR RWD Blue/Black aero (at the dealership)
5/30- 8:15am Received text stating my vehicle was in transit and I needed to complete the remaining steps (submitted app for financing) . Picked a delivery date for 6/6. VIN #s start with 322 (sounds like this is old)
5/30- 1:30pm Received a text stating that my car was in transit (SO excited) and that I needed to submit final payment in 48 hours.
I sent a screenshot of this to the salesman that helped me place my order. He sounded optimistic and said he would get back to me to update my delivery appointment.

5/30- 3:30pm Received a call from him telling me the VIN I was assigned was a car in Canada that would take to long to get here and he would try to set me up with a different VIN

5/30- 5:30pm Received an updated phone call saying that it would be best to wait for that car because it will end up coming back to California and delivered to my pick up location. This is what he was advised to continue doing since I would end up back in a pool waiting if I unmatched that VIN.

Today- no updates . Delivery appointment on my account says “June 8th”

Now I’m getting frustrated waiting and reading forums and learning I SHOULD have chose to wait to be matched up with a different VIN? I just need the vehicle soon and didn’t want to risk not getting it before I don’t have a car (lease turn in on 6/14).

I will continue to wait for the LR RWD model 3. I remain confident that we will receive our car.
Like many model 3 fans, I was ecstatic when the standard range model 3 became available for $35000. After test driving and evaluating my needs for the model 3 and after learning more about phantom drain and the decrease of battery range in cold and hot temperatures, the LR/RWD became the best choice for me.
As I read some of the posts today that alleged the model 3 LR/RWD will not be made any more, I became a bit discouraged and started evaluating if and how the SR+ could perhaps become a viable option.
In doing so, it became apparent to me again the reasons I selected the LR/RWD.
In Priority:
1. Longer Range (…and helps to eliminate range anxiety)
2. Premium stereo sound with all the speakers and a subwoofer
3. Streaming music and web browser
4. Homeline
5. Maps and live traffic
6. Best bang for the buck and better resale value (hopefully)

Since it seems we will have a few more days to wait, feel free to list some of the reasons you selected your LR/RWD model 3.
I look forward to receiving this awesome car.

Those are all valid points that I also considered in the LR vs SR+ battle. Keep in mind, that HomeLink is no longer included with any trim. So depending upon when you ordered you may or may not get that $300 dollar feature.

A couple of others:
1) (Capable of) Much faster charge rate at supercharges.
2) Most efficient Tesla model to date.
3) Longer battery warranty (120k miles vs 100k)
4) Due to the larger battery an average person will need to charge it less often and thus less battery wear.

Don’t know if any of you seen this article:

If this is true then another increased chance we’ll get ours soon!

Definitely very encouraging guys! I just hope that when we do get our cars, we won't end up meeting at a different room, the Service waiting room, for our cars might have quality issues. :-( Kidding!!

Why LR RWD? Same advantages mentioned above. in addition, re-sale value after 5 years. Don't want to get stuck trying to sell a car with low range like my Leaf. I'm pretty certain that the price of EV's will decrease as these big car manufacturers will now be playing on this space. Plus battery technology will change, having 400/500 mile range on an EV will be a standard. And yes, trying to justify the additional cost of the front motor for an AWD to my wife ain't working.

Very similar story here.

5/18 - Ordered LR RWD DBM/Black/Aero (off menu at dealership)
5/24 - @ 6:55 am Received text stating my M3 was in transit, etc.
Chose a delivery date and almost crapped my pants. Needed to get charging, financing, trade in all set up... Somewhere around this time, a VIN was listed on my account.

5/24 - Also got an e-mail message from a delivery support specialist congratulating me, etc. and informed me of next steps.
5/28 - Got text asking if I had set up lending and that I'd need to get the lender name and amount financed to them
5/29 - Got a text telling me my M3 was to be delivered earlier than expected. Really crapping my pants as I still had things to take care of.
5/30 - Got a text telling me the previous "earlier than expected" text telling me it was an automated message sent out in error. They were
waiting for my car.

Since the delivery date listed on the website has changed to June 7th but haven't seen a VIN or heard anything. Called my local dealership and they told me they didn't see a VIN assignment and they'd look into the situation and get back to me.

The day after I placed my order I also got texts/calls to arrange for the delivery - only to realize I was assigned an AWD because my order still had not been adjusted to LR RWD yet. Are you sure your order was already switched to LR RWD when a VIN was assigned on 5/24? if not then probably they assigned an AWD, later realized their mistake and removed the assignment.

Congrats to everyone that has delivery dates. Mine ordered 5/14, no delivery date as of yet (well, besides the first delivery date of 5/21 which Tesla missed )

Like others here I have a 325.... VIN, so from what I read here likely FSD 2.5. My own opinion is FSD is dreamware in my lifetime, is there any other reasons to opt for FSD 3.0 (i.e. do all autopilot functions remain identical and at the same level of functionality)?

I have a 325... VIN assigned as well and awaiting delivery next week - I confirmed with chat support that it does have AP 3.0 HW. They were able to look up configuration quickly. Although I did not buy FSD and likely won’t, I have a hard time believing that Tesla will not find other uses for the available computing power at some point in the future...

Yes the order had been modified the day I ordered (order agreement reflected the change). Who knows if they made a mistake when matching the VIN though.
