Matrix headlights - finally???

Would it make you happier if someone said all modern headlights blind other road users? Because it definitely feels like that when driving at night
Definitely an increase in the instances of glare of headlights generally from my point of view also. Perhaps a slight reduction in the number which have a total failure to dip… maybe this is down to more cars having automated systems.

Tesla has confirmed to the EMEA clubs that matrix lights will be enabled on all Model 3 and Y’s with the appropriate headlight hardware soon.

Same will happen for the new X and S (LHD ones we have) at some point later on.

First launching with what we’ve seen on the Highland 3’s (shadows for other cars) then more features to follow.

^ info confirmed by Will F on the Tesla Owners UK FB

Soon can obviously mean many things in Tesla land, but promising that the approvals are in place etc..

More features? How about a short “Buy a Tesla” subliminal message shined into the retinas of the masses who the car can see isn’t yet driving one?

Joking aside, if they could do something fancy like turn directions on the road, that would be super cool.

More features to follow? I wonder what that means?

Tesla Bjorn is currently on his live YouTube channel testing a Highland at night - matrix lights are definitely working for him.
They look to be working well on the Highland. Also noticeable that the auto highbeams aren't dipping in front of reflective signs. If they've fixed that at the same time as activating matrix lights it would be a big step forward.

Mod comment - this is a 21 min video of highland matrix headlights with the conclusion he thinks they’re pretty good but he’s going to try and get more footage .
About as clear as mud in that video! Many others out there that show it much better. This is the worst one I’ve seen. “As you can see on the left the lights….” Nope, can’t tell. “It’s a bad video, but as you can’t see, but I can, it’s doing….” Nice one, literally can’t tell mate.

Don’t waste 21 mins of your lives. 👍🏻
