Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

You're not too old. You'll get used to it over time. Give it a month or two and you'll be asking yourself "Is it really as fast as it used to be? It doesn't feel as fast". ;)
This it the problem some of us have have had since we got our firs big wheel. What was fast is now slow......The need for speed. Don't open the go faster box. Luckily I had kids which stoped my funding source for building race cars and airplanes.

My SA has said there’s a delay on models with the white interior. Anyone else verify this?
There has been a issue on the standard and LR white interior for some time, in fact even a thread on the subject. First herd on the M3P white. Could be more SA confusion. Could be a new issue.

The tracker has shown there's a delay with models for east coast addresses. Verified. :p

No change in EDD or VIN for me today, but looks like they finally updated the app to filter for M3 Performance. But in my area nothing is available in inventory. Maybe they shouldn’t have sent all our cars to SoCal.

Started most recent EDD window today (June 20-30). Still no VIN or change in EDD
Ordered 4/23 UR/BL; no changes. Bay Area delivery
FWIW — Stopped by Delivery Center yesterday and after looking at my order, SA said that my order will be delivered by June 30, and there would be less than a week between VIN assignment and delivery.
Count me skeptical for delivery by 6/30, but holding out a ray of hope.
Sent a message through app in response to my original order message and was told that “we estimate that by the end of June a vehicle should be made.” Probably just as reliable as the EDD window, but any ray of hope for delivery by June 30 has evaporated.

I was 4/23 midwest order that was July 30th - August 25th. Switching to LR gives you ability to schedule for delivery that week. In the midwest the only pro of the M3P is the speed, everything else is a con for me.

I think most of us that switched from M3P to LR got VIN within a few hours or message to set for delivery when you picked the local inventory. Just food for thought
@Jakub1 just FYI the IL EPA updated their website with the information in the screenshot today. This leads me to believe the FY2025 EV rebate window will be opening July 1 when the new fiscal year begins. Not sure if you can strategically schedule delivery that day or after, but might be worth the $4k…

I am taking delivery of the new M3P next week and was buying some accessories on abstract ocean like their blacked out emblems. I was interested in purchasing their puddle lights for either the two front doors or all 4.

However, I was googling Tesla puddle lights, and I was coming across horror stories in prior posts saying they can mess up the electronics of the door, or cause the window not to work correctly or even break the window.

Does anyone know anything more about this? Are the ones from abstract ocean safe to use?
3+ years of using them on my MY with no issues to note. They look great at night and took all of 5 minutes to install total.

OK. Today was my big day...

Went to pick up my car at 10 am. UR/Black. 4/23. Went to Verona, NY at the casino to pick up my car. Now a few days ago, someone posted on Reddit and reposted here about their pickup at Verona and their car had bad paint, pollen on it, etc, etc. I was nervous after that posting because my car potentially was made at the same time as the other one and was probably delivered at the same time. Technically my car was there since the 10th.

Got there, saw one UR/Black M3P and one Blue/Black M3P. The red one has to be mine, I looked at the VIN, yep it's mine. I then started my inspection.....

Wow, I could NOT believe how perfect the car came out. No paint issues at all (thought there was but turned out it was goo from their tapes etc), No gap issues (all the gaps was the same on each side, even the hood!), the doors was flushed with the body, the inside light strip was perfectly aligned between the door and the front strip, they didn't mount the front license for me cause they thought that I wouldn't want it on my perfect car. I was actually surprised. Really. I expected the worst. The two guys I talked to were so cool. One of them said wow you know your stuff, after doing all the app stuff in front of him. The funny thing is that I told them that they didn't have to do any polishing or anything to the car so i can pick it up ASAP. They said sure.

As you can see the blue car was way dirtier. I guess I was lucky. I had good luck with my 2020 also. But even that had gap issues that i fixed myself mainly the hood and the doors were not flush with the body on one side.

Here are some of the pictures.

Hmm can't get pictures to work on my posting...

Thanks again for helping us with this info. I don't mean to be picky, but I could be interested if I could switch to blue/white and qualify for the tax rebate. The app won't let me modify my configuration, but my understanding of day-1 pricing is:
$52,990 + $1000 blue + $1500 white interior
Am I incorrect?
Blue/White even on the first day didn't qualify. 53000 + 1000 + 1500 is over 55000.

If it opens up that's fine. You have 90-days status post sale to apply for the rebate. If it does open up Q3 on July 1st, you can still apply for it. If you picked up today you'd have until September 18th to file the paperwork with the state.

The one thing I did notice was non-low income residence had a 32% of receiving the 4K, but it's still worth a shot. Thanks for the update on the rebate. There is also a Comed rebate for an EV charger if you use them as for electricity.
