Model S Canadian Deliveries

Just noticed in the My Tesla area of the TM website that the manuals and other documentation is available to download. Strange thing is while on the Canadian site, attempting to download the document results in a broken link. I switched to the USA website and was able to download no problem. I think I will read the manual asap (yes, I do this kind of thing!) so I am totally ready for my car :)

I also got the "404" broken link message for downloading the manuals on the Canadian Tesla site. (I like their 404 error page)

Even though I was already logged-in, when I went back to the Profile page, I had to re-enter my password again. Then I was able to download the manuals.

The Owners Guide I downloaded in September was 7,171KB and today it is 8,366KB, so something has been added or changed.

Hi znino,

I'm from Quebec City and would definitely attend a delivery event in Montreal (ideally south shore). I'm VIN 2009.

Let's put some pressure for Montreal!

When i spoke to the Delivery specialist today he said they had identified a possible location for a delivery event for the province of Quebec. He said this would likely be in Laval. I guess you would still make it :)

I was able to get at all the PDFs by modifiying the URL to strip out the Canadian bit. For anyone that's interested, these're the links to all of them:

https://www.teslamotors.com/sites/default/files/blog_attachments/modelsroadsideassistancecard.pdf

The 'Owners Rights' document contains the US states instead of any of the provinces since these docs come from the US version of the site - the Canadian docs might be slightly different, for example the manual is clearly missing the section on ways to properly stow your hockey sticks. :)

The Toronto Store called today to get license and insurance information (presumably to register the plates). Delivery is likely (at the Mississauga depot) toward the end of next week. It appears that winter tires should be available, but the HPWC will likely not be available until early in 2013 (expected in the first couple of weeks).

The car will have to be re-programmed each time the tires are changed with the codes for the other TPMs (there is only storage for one set at a time). We should press to have access to the TPM data so that we don't need to go to the service depot to get re-programmed twice a year (I have been doing this for years with our Prius' and it is a pain, and frequently done incorrectly).

@Vgr While the first possible date is this Thursday, I called Tesla and the rep said the cars (at least my car and maybe all Vancouver cars) are still in California awaiting transportation and might not be here for a Thurs delivery. That's ok with me as Thurs won't work for me. The rep also had no details re BC reg, insurance, CEV, total due, payment etc. and said he was going to be in a meeting re Cdn deliveries tomorrow and would get back to me.

There is a chicken dance to do it yourself in the Prius (mine were made before TPMS). For the Tesla, right now the only way is to purchase the $500 device to set the TPMS. Because that's a bit expensive for an individual, perhaps you can get other Model S owners in your area to chip in.

Of course he would make it to Quebec!!! In case his car is not fully charged at delivery, he will have to stop at my home in Trois-Rivieres to «top off» his charge ... I have the only CS-90 (70 Amps continuous) charger at 240V (there is 2 others, but they are at «only» 208V) ...

Please note that the entire EV community is welcomed to charge at my place ... :)

The Roadster TPMS device is listed on the store at $500 but it's $750 in Canada according to my Ranger. Not sure what the pricing is on the Model S version, but I'm told it also works for the Roadster.

Good Grief! There should be some way to do this through the touch screen. Even my 2009 ICE has a provision for the user to do this in the absence of a dealer tool (it'll blink the appropriate front or rear turn signal at the corner you're registering and cycle through all four corners).

Did any of you in Toronto or Ontario finalize your car for home delivery and then still get the email to possible select the delivery event instead? I'm trying to determine if having selected Personal Home Delivery prevented the delivery event email option to come in after for you or not. Guess the same question for he Vancouver people. Thanks

Or 6 months.
+1 to getting a touchscreen app for reprogramming sensors. No reason not to.

It is 0 months here in Victoria so I was splitting the difference with you!

Most manufacturers do not allow end users to reset the TPMS. I don't know if that is because TPMS is now mandated as a safety merchanism or they just want to save themselves thousands of support calls and visit when users buy the wrong sensors or have them improperly mounted.
