Wiki Model S Delivery Update

In that case, I must be a Sig Special ;-) Is there a way to tell for sure (besides asking Tesla)? When I go to the 'My Tesla' page on the Tesla website, it just says "Model S Signature Performance #70" and "Reservation Number RN003244". It also says: "Status: The Tesla Factory is building your Model S Performance." I haven't yet been contacted yet by a Delivery Specialist, but was told "soon".

You're a Sig Special; it was automatic for Roadster owners with Sig Reservation and that is the correct "My Tesla" page info.

BTW....Congratulations! and there's a bunch of us just behind you smiling!

Thanks all for returning to delivery updates in this delivery updates thread :)

The wiki post in this thread says this:

SSL #40 Scheduled for delivery 8/28 (reported on TM Forum 8/18 by Butch in "Average Age of Telsa Model S Owner" thread)

Could someone with TM Forum access go find that post and link to it? I assume the link won't work for non-owners/buyers, but it will for some and it's important to link to the source of information, even if offsite.

Ben, if you still have your original email, you can confirm there. At the time I reserved, I got an email (subject line: Your Model S Reservation Sequence Number) that contained the following sentence:

Your Reservation Sequence number is 173 of the Signature Special reservation list.

Try this. (links to it, and it's public)

Great! I edited that into the wiki post (which anyone can do).

Thanks TMC for the wiki post capability!

Seconding the motion for making this thread sticky. I'm checking four threads daily here, for delivery status, and this is the only one that not sticky but I've learned to scroll down and check it.

I still do NOT get this instagram thing. That picture looks HORRIBLE.

How did thet conversation go? Hey! I've got an idea! Let's take good and accurate photos of stuff and then apply software to make them look like I found them in a shoebox at my parent's house from 1970! Those intragram folks are some of the greatest charlatans of all time. Good on 'em but Zuckerberg was monstrously ripped off on that purchase.

You sound like Jon Stewart. His exact quote upon hearing about Facebook's acquisition was "A billion dollars...of money? For a thing that kind of ruins your pictures?”

Your Reservation Sequence number is 173 of the Signature Special reservation list.

My email was dated 6/23/09, and said:

"Your sequence number is SIG 71

The sequence number consists of two parts: alphabetical and a numerical designation. We are maintaining three lists that determine production sequencing:

Signature Edition: your sequence number is prefaced with the letters SIG. Signature Edition is our special edition inaugural production run, and will be limited to 1,000 vehicles.
Roadster preferential list: your sequence number is prefaced with the letter R. These positions will be at the front of our regular production run, and are designed to thank our Roadster owners for their contribution in making Model S possible. Each Roadster we sell puts us one step closer to developing Model S! You have received Roadster preferential positioning if you are a Roadster owner or received a preferential invitation (friends and family) from one of our existing Roadster owners."

The 'SIG' designation for my car seems to be a mistake, because I am (and was) a Roadster owner. Perhaps they've corrected it now. I will write to them and verify.

I've never had anything in e-mail that said I was on the Signature Special list so maybe that came with later reservations. You're still on the Sig special list as a Roadster owner but maybe they weren't using that term at the time.

Update: Tesla has confirmed that I am Signature Special #70. (One person must have dropped off the list ahead of me since then.)

Congrats! I'm glad that's all finally cleared up, and definitely in your favor!

You might want to change your info on the left to "Roadster #108 and SSL 70", which is the shorthand used for Sig Specials. "S P70" implies that you are regular Production 70, which is definitely not the case because you get your car before all "regular" Sigs, Rs and Ps.

I just got off the phone with my customer experience rep. I explained that I'm P#1117 and completed my MVPA early August. I said that my MVPA said to expect delivery in November, but based upon current MVPA dates being posted in the forums I was curious if the November date is still valid. He looked up my records and said that all he can tell me right now is that the EARLIEST I might see my car would be sometime in November, but it could also be the end of December. It all depends upon how ramp up goes. I definitely got the impression (lots of umming and ahhing) that I'd be better served to reset my expectation to sometime in December. My reservation is for a P85 with no options that should cause any delay. He also emphasized that no one with a later P# would get theirs ahead of me. Bottom line, I'm going to pretty much forget about any delivery date at this point until I get my 30 day call or a lot more firm delivery pronouncements from Tesla are forthcoming.
I do have complete confidence that they are doing everything they can to balance speed of production with delivery of a first class car. That's all I can ask for at this time.
