After leaving the factory in Freemont, our car went to Long Beach, CA, where it boarded the Ro-Ro Ship Oberon, operated by Wallenius Wilhelmsen. From there, it went on a bit of a cruise, with ports of Call in Panama City, Puerto Colon, Savannah and Baltimore before turning west across the Atlantic, towards Bremerhaven, Germany.
From there, it will go to Drammen, Norway, and on to Tesla's Drammen Service Center, where it will be given the final once over - including installation of a Premium Front Console and Panoramic Roof Sunshades - in preparation of pickup. We've not been given a date for that auspicious event as yet, but Our DS has projected it to happen sometime in the first two weeks of December.

Suddenly I'm in transit! Still showing a December 4-18 delivery window to Chicago. I've been holding off on obtaining financing due to the 30 day window, etc. Seems like I should get moving, no? Is it possible this thing gets accelerated in a big way and I'm stuck trying to get everything together at the last minute?

I wonder how long the RORO will sit off of the Panama Canal West Entrance in queue to pass thru the canal?
BTW there is a website that you can use to track the SHIP's Movements. I used this watching my RORO come from Belgium to New Jersey making a few stops in southern Great Britain and
then Halifax NovaSoctia Canada. It was about a 11 day trip. I was watching my Volvo XC-60 come here back in 2011. Fascinating... I hope I have not fueled your obsession by this??

Tesla unofficially told me I can expect a delivery by mid-December, even though on MyTesla it states a "December-Early January" estimated delivery. Probably just a very conservative estimate so they can exceed those expectations. My local product specialist says they very typically arrive earlier than expected, especially at year end.

Apparently transit from the factory to the Fremont factory delivery center takes a week... :tongue:
*A* website? There are lots of'em! I've opted to pay for updated satelite tracking on Oberon, and it is currently crossing the Atlantic. They took eight days from Long Beach to Panama City, and another four from Puerto Colon to Savannah. After that, they seem to have been diligent about getting moving.

Got her yesterday!!! Ordered at the end of Aug for a Dec delivery. I'm not complaining that she came sooner. I named my girl "Friday"

That is the same configuration I ordered Nov 9 except that It will be a 90D. Dual chargers also ordered. Mine is in the production queue. The wait is killing me. Tomorrow I am going to the opening of the new Calgary store. My sales advisor and possibly the DS will be there. I will have questions to ask!

I opted out of premium interior even though I really wanted the powered liftgate. The white headliner looks amazing with this config; you're going to love it.

Vehicle is still in transit and should arrive at Devon, Pa. SC over the weekend. DS has scheduled pick-up for next Wednesday @ Noon !! Something tells me there will be a long line of people waiting for rides, right after Thanksgiving dinner....

I got the premium interior because my wife said that power liftgate is a must. Lights will be nice too. Where does the carbon fiber spoiler come from? I didn't see it in the accessories shop.
