By that rationale, can I assume that my multi-pattern black seats will hopefully speed things up (vs other/premium seats)?
*fingers crossed*

Fingers crossed :) I wouldn't wish this wait on anyone else... I think there is a slow down across the board, but at the same time from what I gather from my DS and my planned production window, I think it's just less vehicles are getting an early bump into production compared to vehicles ordered in June.

For what it's worth, I'm skeptical MyTesla is accurately reflecting car production status. I never saw an 'in production queue' message. It remained in 'Order confirmed between 7/3 and 8/3. Then it suddenly showed 'in production', and 2 days later it showed 'in transit', where it remains still. I did not see any 'your car is being prepared for delivery' etc. I have no idea where it needs to transit to either, since I am picking it up from Fremont. I have not received any communication from the DS as to readiness, even though the page says delivery between 8/7 (yesterday) and 8/14 .

So to all of you expecting MyTesla to accurately reflect what's up with your car, I'm not sure you should be fretting about it all that much. Your car may already be in production and it just doesn't show up.

It could be they changed the process, and don't change your status until there is a VIN plate attached (or something?). How long does it take to make a car, once it starts down the line? 2 days seems like plenty. Makes sense to build them only when there is a full truck going somewhere, instead of warehousing them until a truck is ready. Easy to imagine they don't build the set of cars going to Maine, until they have 6 ready to fill the truck, then pop them out (for example).

Repeat after me, I should have bought that P90DL sitting on the floor, even those it wasn't exactly what I wanted, and cost $40k more, instead of ordering a 90D. lol I waited on a Porsche in 1999, that was 6 to 12 months, this is easy.

So the myTesla page has been showing Estimated Delivery as August 5th - August 12th since the end of July. I've had approximately 0 contact from the Delivery Specialist since then. Is that normal?

So far I'm glad Tesla's sell themselves, because the sales staff doesn't seem so interested.

I've been in constant contact with my DS - either email or phone. I'd be bugging your DS asap. :)

Based on the spreadsheet, 3 - 5 days seems to be the average production time.

I got my VIN on 7/3 when it confirmed. It said nothing at all for one month other than 'order confirmed'. Suddenly on 8/3 it shows as in production and on 8/5 it shows as in transit, and the delivery window updates to 8/7-8/14 , and no communication from DS. I didn't get any of the other intermediate status updates others report.

At this point I've decided that MyTesla is really just a random status emitter that prints random stuff at very roughly sequentially correct times, but that it's not specific enough to be trusted.

Not for lack of trying. I contacted her. She's not responded.

My car went from 'in production' to 'in transit' in less than 2 days. I hope it doesn't show up with the frunk, a door or two and half the battery pack missing

If you haven't, start contacting your DS now. I did that when my estimate page showed the beginning of the delivery range being the next day. That's when the DS was most responsive for me. (Delivered at the end of July.)

Enjoy the awesome car you are about to have!

Agree, based on previous posts... can't put much stock on the MyTesla page as it's pretty bad at being updated correctly... I also haven't gotten automated emails and haven't been able to contact my DS for a few days now :( So it could be my vehicle went into production Thursday-Sat and I wouldn't know.

The minimum time for production seems to be about 2 days, was analyzing what the odds are for me picking up this Friday with not being in production yet last week. If they absolutely push the mins... could be produced and then ready for pickup in 3 days total, but seems very very unlikely.

That may be true, but another point I'm making is that they're not following a predictable series of status change steps on MyTesla. I had no production queue message and no prep message, and my DS is silent 2 days into my delivery window.

Tune into the signal here, what does being assigned a random set of digits have to do with actually having those digits on the car you actually get? Right, they print a little metal plate, and attach it with rivets to the car. Once that is done, then they change your MyTesla.
