 Confused as to what you mean? If TEG's info is correct, then it's likely that Tesla will fly past 500 cars in Q3. (Or did I just read your post wrong?)

October is part of Q4, so if they only do the Special Sigs in Q3, that's about 200, plus 40 or so Founders, plus 50(??) or so test vehicles, which is way less than 500.

If so (and it seems likely from the current trend), I'm glad I didn't have my hopes up for the September date on my paperwork. I know it's been beaten into the ground already, but Tesla truly is doing a horrid job communicating with its early reservation holders.

AO, I hear your frustration. I can't tell you what a relief it was to hear from Tesla a month ago that I should expect delivery in October. The fact that I had to ask them to tell me this is unfortunate because I agree that it would be a lot more appealing if they contacted everyone without prompting to say that the MVPA month is wrong instead of waiting for us to contact them.

I think they underestimate those who sit and stew about the lack of communication, but such is the life of buying a car from a start-up. Whoever is making these communications decisions thinks they're avoiding a problem by not giving people "bad news" when in reality they'd be avoiding a lot of sore feelings by getting ahead of the delays, especially with people who have invested so heavily in their purchase on blind faith.

Great, when about will your first post be? (To save us from checking all afternoon....)

Let's see. If I get out of the factory by 2:30-3pm, 300 miles / ?? mph = ???. I'll try to post something in the evening.

But here is a teaser...

The phone call came when I wasn't expecting it. Be there, tomorrow, 1pm, and bring money. Lots of money. My heart skipped a beat. Although I'd been waiting for years for this occasion, I still hadn't reconciled that it was happening to me. Now. In my haste, I almost forgot to ask the address, 45500 Fremont Blvd. 1pm. My stomach churned. Was I ready for this? What about my wife of 25 years? It was something we'd never done before, and I knew it would change us forever.

After pushing a bit, I'm now told that I should be receiving notice late Sep (regular Sig 92) for delivery mid to late Oct (including significant transit time from CA to FL). This is from HQ, but I'm not holding my breath. Hopefully, this time, they are underpromising and hoping to overdeliver (so to speak). No idea if they are bunching - i forgot to ask.

For what it's worth, here is another data point on deliveries. I am S1299, the last known Sig. I asked yesterday if I could add paint armor. It appears I just made it, as he had to get permission to do so.

When I asked about delivery, he said early November was still probable, unchanged from August 1 when I configured. So while there may be a delay at present for a few cars, it has not impacted any deliveries in November.

WOW! You should be a novelist! Can't wait to hear the rest.....

I wasn't sure if you were describing going for the car or going to get married to your (future) wife of 25 years!:tongue:

Seriously, congrats, and we can't wait to hear.

Thanks for the update. My sense is that Tesla isn't in the "under promise/over deliver" business when it comes to delivery dates, so I changed my signature to reflect October 31st as my expected delivery date. If you're S92 and you're late October, I'll be lucky to get mine by the end of that month (unless we're batched).

Another data pont!
SSL #180 scheduled for delivery between Sept 20th and Oct 4th.
I selected home delivery.
Specific date will be set when the car comes off the assembly line. I was told that once that occurs, it takes about 1 week for the final QA and delivery to Chicago (1 day + 5 days).
Note, this is based on the two my specialist has processed and delivered. So there may be some adjustments to this. He stated there are 4 total that are in the Chicago area.
I will post more when I get the exact delivery date:)

Update: Delivery delay resolved! Delivery set for Saturday Oct 6th!!

@Nigel. Thought you might like that one:)

@cinergi. I was actually quite surprised to get the call today. I almost didn't answer as my first thought was a political/robo call. But when I saw it was from Chicago...

Hopefully there we be a number of others getting calls.

Congrats! Did your Tesla Rep provide you with your VIN? If so, what are the last three digits of your VIN?
