GG - It is an opinion and not a fact, so your disagreement is noted. That said, I did see the car interiors on display and did not pay as much attention as I was focussed on the the large display :)

Attention to Detail/Finesse is something that Tesla will learn over time - for example, no matter how I adjust the driver seat, I cannot find a perfect position to rest my arms while driving - this had been straightforward on BMW as well as Volt. The quality of the seats is definitely worse than my Volt - btw, I had very low expectations from the Chevy. They also need to tighten up quality controls - one of the USB ports does not allow me to connect. I hope that they improve the Media Player software - it does not recognize my iPod over USB. I need to connect iPod using Bluetooth which screws up the connectivity to the iPhone. Also, over BT, it does not sync the media library from either the iPhone or iPod, so I am left with a very large display that functions worse than my Volt wrt Audio system. Even the scrappy BMW iPod integration was more functional than Tesla's. Good thing is this is something that they can fix in SW!

We all want Tesla to succeed, critical comments should be welcome for overall good of the company and improvement of the product.

Ankur, I respectfully disagree with your assessment. There isn't anything "downright poor" in this car. I find it hard to understand why you went ahead with the purchase even if you hadn't test driven it; I'm sure you'd have had the chance to look at the betas in the stores. The car hasn't changed much on the interior since the beta was unveiled in October 2011.

Picked it up on Thursday @ 2pm. Haven't had a chance to post in this thread until now. The model S is even better than I thought it would be! Nothing on the due bill. Looking forward to many km's together. :)

It is definitely heavy by most standards. But for the amount of instantaneous torque that Tesla presents, I am getting used to the accelerator while changing lanes to keep it from going off-balance. On my V12 ICE car that I drive once a month, the weight is so much higher that the Tesla appears light.

This strikes me as odd, the car is 4400lbs or so, that is a heavy car by any metric.

Interesting that you say that, I specifically mentioned the seats on the Volt (not the dashboard) and if you get the highest end Volt, the bucket seats are very good.

WTF?!? :frown:

to each his own, but myself along with everyone that I've invited to sit in the car has been blown away by how nice it is.

of course, it's nothing compared to a Chevy Volt, but.... LOL

Please tell us your experience with the S once you have driven it awhile.
Thank you.

I have Model S performance coming in about one month.
I have agreed to trade in my 2011 Volt23,000 miles all options.
If you traded in a car, was it a volt and did you use AutoNation, and was process fair?

Some of this was planned but just not rolled out yet. I think they were at the "fish or cut bait part," and they had to stop cutting bait and start fishing, so some planned/promised features (like some form of sync) had to be put off. I hope they are working on iPod integration as part of that (rumor says they are, but rumor has various reasons for why it's not there yet), although I heard contradictory things last year as to whether the car did/would support it (one Tesla salesperson told me it did, but I never saw that in the car specs anywhere).

I like the interior and find the seats very comfortable, though I don't have the perfect arm-resting position for my right arm, either. I'm short, so I leave the armrest slid back (out of my way) and that works okay for me, resting occasionally on the cup holder. We'll see how well that works on my first long drive, this summer. ;-)

Found another annoyance today - no hook in the back seats for a coat hanger. Not that I love wearing coats, but sometimes, I have to deal with Japanese customers ;)

I called in today to get my entire VIN number. The 9th digit is an "X". I found out that my car is finished and in final testing, which should take about a week. My final paperwork is now in process and should be signed and complete in a day or so. I have scheduled February 28 for my Factory pickup.

jchangyy - I would suggest that you call your representative. I'll bet your car is in the same state as mine.

Your sig block says factory gray 21" wheels, but those look like aftermarket 19's: your winter set? Who makes them and where'd you buy them?

What number should you call if your delivery window is starting and you have not heard from a DS? Thanks in advance for your help.

In my case when I first got my delivery window I got an email from a Product Specialist. The product specialist is your contact until the car is finished (at some point they may hand off to a delivery specialist who handles the actual delivery). If you haven't heard from one, email the address on your MVPA and you should hear back (or call).

Got both an email and a call today.

1/13 - Finalized design
1/14 - Signed paperwork
1/28 - Delivery button (Window Feb 19 - March 5)
2/13 - VIN # 5253 (Via iPhone App)
2/19 - Received call: Your vehicle is in Texas and is being detailed. We need D/L, Insurance info and Money.

He added a "Pay Now" button to the My Tesla page. When you click on it, it lets you calculate how much you owe. Then it gives you 2 options. If you press on pay electronically, it emails you wire transfer instructions. If you press on Checking Debit, it gives you the option of entering your checking account info, and they electronically debit the account.

UPDATE: They sent me a contract to sign, I returned it today. The car is being loaded on a truck in Austin tomorrow am, and will be in Houston tomorrow afternoon! They made my window!!! In fact, the early part of my window.

Nifty! 1-click ordering is next ;)

And if you are paying by a loan?
